ShirleyBeran, you know more than I do. I'm just responding to previous comments. Like I said, I had no clue she was gone and definitely don't know the reasons for it. I will say one thing, I am sure it wasn't because the Reader was kowtowing to any one. While not having the background and the expertise that Ms. Luzzaro has re: South Bay, I promise to look into any tips/leads sent my way, regardless where they come from. And, I assure you I will not be told to do otherwise. Thx -dH

Charger Girls finally have something to celebrate

Yeah, they definitely don't get paid much, that's for sure. On average I heard they get paid somewhere around $6,000 a season. That's nothing considering some pay travel expenses for away games. Thx! -dH

More money for city attorney's attorneys

BSP, the "miscommunication" occurred when Briggs had first requested the emails, some of which had already turned up in a PRA I and other reporters had submitted. The City Attorney's Office said there were no documents. Briggs sued. Goldsmith's office then later turned over some, I think 2,600, of the nearly 30,000 pages of emails. Thanks. -dH

Since publication Donahue Schriber filed additional lobbying reports putting total expenditures at $1.53 million since 2010. The company spent $800,000 in the fourth quarter of 2014.-dH

Goldsmith loses to Briggs

Update: **City agrees to settle Todd Gloria's email case.** On Monday city councilmembers agreed to settle the lawsuit filed by San Diegans for Open Government against councilmember Todd Gloria. Terms of the settlement include an admission from city saying it failed to follow PRA laws, as well as attorney's fees to be decided by a judge. Here's a portion of the agreement: ***Acknowledgements. The City acknowledges that under Government Code section 6253(b), it was required to determine within ten(10) days from receipt of the May 2 &3, 2013 requests whether the requests, in whole or in part, sought copies of disclosable public records, as defined by Government Code section 6252(e), in the City's possession and to promptly notify Plaintiff of the determination and the reasons therefor. The City further acknowledges that the May 14, 2013, letter response, which was postmarked May 16, 2013, fell outside of the ten (10) day period set forth in Government Code section 6253(b). The City also acknowledges that, under Government Code section 6253.1(a); it has a duty, to the extent reasonable under the circumstances: (1) to assist members of tl1e public identify records and information that are responsive to CPRA requests; (2) to describe the information technology and physical location in which records exist; and (3) to provide suggestions for overcoming any practical basis for denying access to the records or information sought.
