timtim The first part of my statement was indeed directed to you, based upon an assumption that you are a specific board member. If you are said person, then attempts to aggravate members of the public are beneath your position. The second part of my statement, apologizing for any confusion if you are not said person, should probably have been more clear as to whom it was directed to. Yes, in part, it could be to the general public. But it also could refer to you, as a part of the general public, to take the high road and refrain from attempts to belittle, or insult others. As for "acting the victim", I would sympathize with your issue of correction and defense, however, when you make such opening statements as ***"Are you losers really that trapped in your little bubble that this is now blog worthy news?"***, I find it very difficult to see you as such a victim.— June 13, 2013 2:22 p.m.

I'm not sure if you are whom some people here assume you are, but if you are said person, then what would mean that you are an example of one of our "fine" district leaders. Big Bay Boom prepares to try again
Slightly scaled down? Didn't they promise more fireworks this year? They first offered a "Free" show, but that would require the city to have traffic control and all the other costs. I last heard that Garden State was going to add additional fireworks to the next year show. Though, they pack their barges to the limit, I wonder where they were going to set-up the 'additional' fireworks. Now, they are scaling back? Why is the city going with an out of state company when there is a local company, Fireworks America, that could do the show? Fireworks America is the company that coordinates fireworks with the San Diego Symphony Summer Pops, among other places.— June 10, 2013 11:16 a.m.

I haven't seen the dollar amounts for all the bids, so I don't know how much difference between the winning bid vs the others. Did any of the bids take missing conduits and shoddy previous work into account? Would ANY of the other bidders have had to have large change orders as well? Companies I have worked for would have included in assumptions in their quote that existing wiring or other conditions would not be included.— June 7, 2013 7:40 a.m.

*Brand told U-T reporter Aaron Burgin on May 30, “If I knew what I know when they asked me to come back [as superintendent of the Sweetwater school district], I wouldn’t have done it.”* So, I can see how he made a commitment to stay as "acting superintendent" for the year. But, if he was so disgusted by the trustees behavior, why did he stay on, signing a new contract after resigning?— June 3, 2013 12:49 p.m.
Safety of Sweetwater school district’s buses below par
For this meeting, as this was not on the agenda, the board could not "legally" act or discuss this. But since this has been brought up in the past by drivers, maybe the board could, I don't know...PUT IT ON THE AGENDA??? But since the safety and proper operation of the very vehicles we are transporting our students around the county and state should take priority, the board SHOULD be able to add it on as an emergency status, and even act upon it right then.— May 29, 2013 3:49 p.m.
