Risks rise as San Diego's painted curbs fade
You have been commenting here for over a decade. If one were to assume that you actually live in San Diego, how in the world can you call this unbelievable? Surely a decade or more of living there would indeed make it believable, if not actually expected. I have not lived in San Diego for over 25 years and I find it completely believable.— February 18, 2019 8:46 p.m.
Gonzalez surrenders private prison money, gets cash from Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell
Funny, I don't see anything at the end of the article about his doing anything for money.— February 18, 2019 2:47 p.m.
San Diego gas prices edging up – want to drive to Pauma Valley?
WOW!! Talk about being unable to take criticism! I guess you simply can't comprehend the fact that you are incorrect. In Arizona and California, along with some other states, the "gas tax" is merely the name give the total of primary and secondary excise taxes levied in the purchase of fuel. In Az, that happens to be an 18 cent primary and a 1 cent secondary. In Ca, I believe the PRIMARY excise tax is now 41.7 cent and the SECONDARY is a 2 cent ust tax. Of course in July, the primary excise tax goes up to 47.3 cents and an additional 9 cents sales tax is added, so the total Ca. ful tax goes up to 53.8 cents a gallon. I know you want to be the corrector, not the corrected, but in this case... BTW, not complaining, simply correcting your wrong information. But since you don't drive or own a car, I guess you can't really rely on your own personal experience.— February 14, 2019 7:38 p.m.

Seriously?? I was born and raised in Arizona and I spend at least half of my time here. Do you really want to argue with me?? Seriously?? Let me explain it to you one more time. The Arizona fuel tax consists of the aforementioned 18 cent excise tax AND the additional secondary excise tax, a1 cent ust tax for a total of 19 cents. That same ust tax also applies to diesel and gasahol. BTW, apparently you are not aware that in California, that secondary excise tax, the ust tax, is 2 cents per gallon. That went into effect on 1 July, 2010 https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/business/col…— February 14, 2019 4:35 p.m.

Well, you quoted a comment referring to Maglite's heavy long aluminum flashlights, so it is a natural thread to follow. In any event, there are quite a few companies making those "basically obsolete" flashlights. Right off the bat, Streamlight comes to mind. I think they've been around for close to 50 years or so. So as I said above, obsolete? Yeah, not so much.— February 14, 2019 3:59 p.m.

The total gas tax in Arizona is 19 cents, which includes a 1 cent underground storage tank tax. I know, it is only a penny, but as an editor, you should know that accuracy is important.— February 14, 2019 6:17 a.m.
Gonzalez surrenders private prison money, gets cash from Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell

"Basically obsolete", really?? Indeed, Maglite does still offer the classic version with incandescent and Xenon bulb lights. But the majority of the flashlights they sell are LED. From a little 3" mini for you key chain to a big 5 cell that is over a foot long. I have a bunch of them and have been using them since the early '80s. So obsolete?? Yeah, not so much. BTW, I believe they are still made out in Ontario.— February 7, 2019 9:52 a.m.
I once lived in an RV in San Diego, and it sucked

Scooter riders flooding emergency rooms
Cordless drills?? A new fad?? Seriously?? Cordless drill have been around for over 100 years. And the cordless drill as we now know it came about in the late 60's when technology allowed the battery to be increased from 3.5 volts to 9 volts, and are now up to 20 volts. I bout my dad his first cordless drill for Father's day in probably 1971 or 1972. I believe it was a Makita. I hardly think cordless drill a a "new fad". Oh, and btw, I have never met anyone in my entire life who has been injured using a cordless drill. Could it be you are just not sufficiently mechanically inclined to be able to properly operate one??— January 28, 2019 10:44 a.m.
