Racehorse trainers and PETA agree
http://www.clockerbob.com/chapter3.html So here’s the windup: I was told to be at the barn around 11:30 A.M. the next morning, the day of the Spinaway Stakes. So there I was, alone, because all the barn chores were completed and the crew had scrammed. I was walking the row, talking to the horses at 12:00 noon when the veterinarian pulled up. “Where’s the horse in today’s stake?” He asked. I pointed. The veterinarian said, "Get a shank and hold her in the stall." He then lifted the back lid of his veterinarian’s vehicle. He carefully selected a small bottle and a needle, and approached. The veterinarian calmly entered her stall. He found a vein on her neck, loaded the needle from the bottle, and injected. He held his hand on her neck for awhile, and I though this would be a great opportunity to ask a vet about this listless two year old filly’s one ankle looking a smooch bigger than the other. So I did! He never even looked down at her ankles, but said, "I don’t do legs." We then left the two-year-old filly’s stall together. I snapped the webbing shut, and the vet walked to the back of his vet vehicle. Then the veterinarian quickly disposed of the needle and the bottle, and closed the back lid of his vehicle. He motioned to me, and I moved towards him. "Don’t let anyone go near her stall. Get some coffee, a chair, and sit outside her stall, here, on the edge of the road. Grab some pebbles. She’ll start dancing in about thirty minutes, and throw the pebbles and yell at her so she’ll keep her feet on the floor.” "Listen," I said, “you’re not going to the Lukas barn are you?” “No,” he said, “It's your turn today.” Copyright © 1999 Robert Kachur— August 20, 2014 12:52 p.m.

SD pension mess hits Journal's front page
After Maliki, U.S. to Boost Iraq Aid The Obama administration is preparing to significantly increase U.S. diplomatic, military and economic assistance to Iraq now that Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has stepped aside the 'golden age of debt' Iraq getting a big slice to party with.— August 15, 2014 5:26 p.m.

"because higher interest rates would make it impossible to pay the national debt. Best, Don Bauder" Donald the USA nationally debt is a number we can never repay as Iraq knows when Iraq ask us to intercept Oil Tankers from the Kurds, send troops against ISIS, take back the oil wells in northern Iraq from the Kurds, drop aid to the mountain people, break the blockade of the mountain people, accept 20,000 Iraq political refuges a year into the USA at a cost of $50,000 per and pay, supply and train the Iraq troops all on the dime of the USA taxpayer. Join with Detroit, Gm, the banks, Argentina, post office, amtrack, Stockton and party into the 'golden age ' of debt.— August 15, 2014 12:54 p.m.

Could you as a writer and your weekly move into the 'Golden Age of Debt' The period you frequently references is the start of the ‘Golden Age’ When the courts ruled that a city could increase their workers Benefits while decreasing the yearly amount funded. The city of San Diego is slowly sliding deeper and deeper into debt. This massive debt is a privilege afforded cities, counties, states and the biggest debtor of all the feds. Debt has become a monster as in an 1/8th of the USA economy. Look at the conditions of the streets, the quality of life on the trolleys, the vacant buildings, the homeless and the pockets of trash. Like Detroit, the Post Office, Amtrak, Argentina, GM, Stockton and Iceland the debt of the city of San Diego will be nationally socialized. Nothing to worry about.— August 14, 2014 6:40 p.m.
The public doesn’t like dead horses
the “first vice chair” is Bo Derek. Here a fresh ruling by Bo Derek Trainer Shane Moran has been fined $1,000 and suspended for 30 days by the California Horse Racing Board... According to a report in the Daily Racing Form, the ruling stems from a 2013 case where several of the horses in Moran’s small stable were found to be in very poor shape. Two of the horses were in such bad condition that they had to be euthanized at a veterinary clinic— August 8, 2014 2:31 p.m.
Horse Branding at Old Del Mar
If Lief or Joe Harper were concerned about the welfare of the horse colony they would have rapidly requested the drug test results of the horses that collapsed or broke down. Then, question the attending vets as to what drugs were administered pre-race. Several of the 11 horses that died or broke down at Del Mar were labeled collapsed. I believe that deaths that were labeled breakdowns really collapsed. Drugs are a cause of a runner legs folding. If it takes ten months for drug test results from Del Mar's current and future dead or mangled thoroughbred racers and its found that the same drug was administered to all.— August 7, 2014 2:46 p.m.
