Need Lets Art Breathe
Travel on the Coaster from San Diego towards Oceanside and as the train crosses in the middle of the lagoons near Cardiff you will see art inspired by the movie "clockwork orange". Spare tires, planks of wood, reeking orange white sulfur foam covering pools of water. Few birds. Further along at the Solana beach train station you will see the surface of the moon covered with in black plastic inspired by a martin sheen painting— September 22, 2011 12:28 p.m.

Nucor's Death by China, co-authored by Peter Navarro
The company, China Construction America, has won contracts on major public works projects, including the Tappan Zee and Alexander Hamilton Bridges, the No. 7 subway line extension and the $91 million Metro-North Railroad station at Yankee Stadium. .... In one of the largest loans by a single lender in the city since 2008, the Bank of China lent $800 million late last year to refinance a building on Park Avenue housing JPMorgan Chase and Major League Baseball….The Bank of China recently agreed to lend more than $250 million to refinance an office tower at 3 Columbus Circle. The economic chasm between (our banker) CHINA and USA is widening. How many global trade deals or mineral resources (Mines-1 in Afghan & oil wells -2 IN Iraq) has China brokered for while we've been debating our budget? iF YOU'LL NOTE IN THE DEBT CEILING DISPUTE THE ONLY THING THAT BOTH the Republicans and Democrats agree on is that we will pay the interest on our national debt to China before we pay social security, Medicare, our armed forces etc.Meanwhile, on the "morning joe" tv show a guest lifts a coffee cup and reads from the bottom made in china. then says cups and caps are all china makes. www.clockerbob.com— August 24, 2011 11:08 a.m.
Wall Street Thrives on Main Street Pain
"Cina's economy is 1/4 the size of the USA." Ok then Hilary Clinton says we can't move on China because they are our bank.— July 21, 2011 2:52 p.m.

Saddlehorn Ranch West in Jamul – for retired thoroughbreds
Nijinsky's Leap died from a Catastrophic breakdowns while training on Friday at Del Mar Catastrophic breakdowns benefit many turf writer's who remain quiet on the subject of death at the hands of others. Silence is required to be considered for tenure or election into the turf writers hall of fame. What part of the track did the breakdown occur, did the horse have a pre-existing condition and shoulder injuries are rare. Was it medication or the track surface that cause the breakdown? Is this the dead horses' trainer/vets' combo first thoroughbred racer to breakdown under their care or the fifteen? All these questions will remain unanswered and the boys in the press box will be feed well.— July 16, 2011 noon
San Diego Economy: Not Much to Brag About
San Diego city council is following the pre-bankruptcy steps taken by the United States Post office. Sunday, post office realizes that they will default on pension obligations/payment. Tuesday give Postal workers a 3.5% raise Wednesday give the workers a no work stoppage guarantee Thursday default on pension payment-declare bankruptcy Friday have taxpayers pay for raise-no work stoppage guaranty and amount defaulted on pension fund.— June 17, 2011 8:41 a.m.
San Diego mayor says deficit is $56.7 million; group says $130 million.
Manny are not familiar with pre-bankruptcy euphoric spending. In 1995 I lived in Cardiff with a group of retired Teamsters all former members of the racetrack parking lot crew. Before filing for bankruptcy they borrowed everything they could-spent everything they could. Any cash was kept in the house. Bank account at less then ‘0’. Max credit cards and more came in mail. Same day loans against $2,500 monthly pension’s check- used white Plymouth Valiant down payment on credit card. Jake spent weekends with younger women in Reno and San Fran. Then all debts were cleared before a bankruptcy judge. Even got to keep car. Same policy is being followed by bankrupt city of San Diego (new stadium, new library, new park, new fire station, new convention center, homeless consultant and staff at $464,750 a year to provide “technical assistance”, 3.5% raise for postal workers) All debts will be erased by bankruptcy judges’ ruling that city sales tax will be increased 2% without a public vote to cover debt.— April 7, 2011 8:28 a.m.
San Diego Library Foundation Finds Funds
$500 MILLION DOLLAR LIBRARY. I've talked with construction workers at the new library site and they all mention that the pedestrian walkway to Petco Park is over budget and has taken much longer then planned to complete. They also mention that the city council is pro-labor and wouldn't beef if the new library took a little longer to build and cost a lot more then planned. Why, Jacobs is loaded and what is the next construction job to go too now that the San Diego's re-development agency is having its' funds depleted by the city council.— March 24, 2011 4:28 p.m.
