Trump goes swamp fishing
Good heavens. Why is Trump still president? Is there no one in our halls of power so untouched by corruption that they will stand up and call for his removal?— January 29, 2017 6:49 p.m.
Alternative air
Oh, please. There is no such thing as "alternative" in radio. It's all corporate marketing all the time. Certainly 91X and 94.9 cannot be discussed in any rational way as some type of "alternative to the mainstream," as 91X and 94.9 are the mainstream. What, who's more popular than twenty one pilots, Green Day, Foo Fighters, and Beck?— October 6, 2016 2 p.m.
Fifty most dangerous intersections for pedestrians
Fascinating. That's the area where I spent my youth, walking, skateboarding, and biking to and from Hoover High, Wilson Middle, and Euclid Elementary. I didn't realize it was so dangerous.— September 30, 2016 2:08 p.m.
Mountain bikers allowed on Miramar? Affirmative
Now, how about closing Del Mar Mesa to all further development (even though it appears to have gone way beyond the point of no return), stopping destructive use by mountain bikers (even though it appears impossible), and making it into a state park to protect its rare and endangered old-growth chaparral habitat?— August 28, 2016 9:14 a.m.
Chargers stadium destiny and Dick Cheney's daughters
"...conservative ex-Texas GOP governor Rick Perry, a longtime Spanos family favorite." Really? I did not know that. Gross. Double gross.— August 4, 2016 3:38 p.m.
It's about the...baseball?
In what universe does 94.9FM play "alternative rock?" It's a label that no longer has any meaning as anything played on that station is as corporate as corporate can get. There is nothing here, only the world that Marcuse described in One-Dimensional Man-- consumerism confused with freedom and an endless marketing of useless material goods. Viva slavery!— May 5, 2016 4:12 p.m.
I am come hither to die
The Abrahamic monotheistic faiths, with their endless "one-upping" for who has the right interpretation of scripture, and who has the right to possess or be dispossed of limited (oh, so limited. think you're in the "saved" group? think again! you've got the wrong interpretation! you are really worshiping Satan or a "false God!") "holy space," are a recipe for serious violence, if ever there was one. God awful depressing.— November 19, 2015 9:58 a.m.
The beautiful Morro Rock, looking northwest across Morro Bay. January 2014.
Thanks! Let's hope for some rain this year.— October 11, 2014 9:50 a.m.
Someone pleads guilty to first-degree murder
Oh.— October 8, 2014 3:14 p.m.
Runners wrecking the trail in Torrey Pines
You should see the mountain biking community at Del Mar Mesa. 100-200 year old Mission Manzanitas, some of the largest scrub oaks in the state, 10-20 endangered species, and all they can do is call people who want to protect this for everyone to see "eco-terrorists." And cut more habitat down to make more "trails." It's over.— March 31, 2014 midnight
