Once more from Carlsbad

America West was the most successful in Carlsbad. All flights went to/thru PHX, one of AmWest's hubs for connecting flights within its system. Carlsbad fares were the same as traveling out of San Diego, where most their flights also stopped in PHX. Unlike United Express' run from C'bad to LAX, expensive and sometimes hours waiting for connecting United flights.

Eastern Sierra not Eden

Reportedly they have the evidence and know the suspects. The OC lab report will be the evidence they need to convict. They know its there, just Inyo County doesn't have the lab and technology.

I remember this 1988 hard to follow diatribe on Roger, and always reflected that it was TK that wrote it. Thought my pal had gone wacko or something. But he was only mentioned in the piece. Good to know it wasn't him. And yes, still hard to follow and the Reader editors were nutso back then.

The fate of Ofo bikes in San Diego

I believe these bikes are made in China, sold by Chinese companies, to Chinese invested corporations in the U.S. Follow the money and one may figure out why these companies could care less about their bikes getting stolen or recycled.

Julie Stalmer: For a weekly publication, it would be okay. But no...

Having had a 70s paper route for the Evening Trib, then in the 80's, once a week for the San Dieguito Citizen, I can't believe someone hasn't invented a machine that will fold and stuff the paper into a plastic bag, then just load up through a tube or something, shooting the number of papers needed into a carrier's car.

Or . . . one could stay away from the hell hole known as the downtown Del Taco. As much as I love Del Taco, this location is a haven of homelessness; a urine smelling parking lot, and obviously mentally ill customers. It is admirable for this Del Taco, knowing limitations of serving the public that just want an under-$20 meal downtown before a baseball game, continues to knock out a good Double Del with a Macho-side of fries. Waiting over four hours for a policeman to show up to report a negative encounter with a homeless person may also be questionable. Just sayin'

Golf has to suffer six or more years

All outdoor sports are in decline; skiing, tennis, golf, fishing, even snow boarding has leveled off. Calif. has lost 1/2 of its fishing license sales since 1980.
