The purpose of the drag

Yes, Amen, now as we pass the offering plate . . . My dad died when I was 12, and it took years to remember his knowledge about fishing the Sierras. But he gave it to me in many ways. I just had to experience it again. I'm still looking for it when it comes to surf, pier and deep sea. Didn't do that much with him, so its taken half a lifetime to try to figure it out. My other saying, "Ever hour spent fishing adds an hour to your life."

The purpose of the drag

Daniel for Sainthood!!!! I have always said the best thing one can do in life is teach a kid how to fish. The other part that saying is the worse thing one can do is MAKE a kid fish. I've seen too many times kids told to shut up, sit down, and fish when all they really want to do is chuck rocks or ride their bike. Its torture to "make" a kid fish. Teach them all you know, they'll either pick it up or they won't.

Two simple rules

Good points, leave it better than you found it. We always pick up trash along Silver Lake in June Lake when we visit, Usually get a bag full of line, power bait jars, Styrofoam worm containers, bottles and cans, even diapers. Sad. We need the indian guy crying commercial again.

Fiesta has most garbage

I think Fiesta Island is one big garbage dump anyway. Has the city ever thought about planting grass or trees. Its just a big pile of dirty sand, not beach sand.

Story update - Looks like the Valero in Coronado succumbed to "Media Pressure" (I'm inflating my value) and lowered their price by 10 cents. The other two stations mentioned have not, as of yesterday.

Good point. I have reported before that Chevron - overall - is the highest priced gas. However there are more and more Shell's popping up, we've got two across the street from one another at Leucadia Blvd. @ El Camino Real. It seems Shell is positioning itself, because there are so many up and down the price spectrum, to take the highest price crown.

We’re special

Good point. I was going mention that angle as well but wasn't sure if true or not. I know it used to be a long time ago. Same is true, I believe, for indian casinos and their gas. Base exchanges were supposed to be to provide goods and services at reduced cost because military personal were stuck on bases away from towns. Now in the world of Costco's everywhere???? How many millions in sales tax is not received from base exchanges because of purchases at the same or higher price as the private sector stores?
