...but only Mormons allowed!
Temple worthy Mormons, I think you mean.— October 27, 2010 3:24 p.m.
Heartless & Uneasy
founder, founder, founder, i grew up on the cusp of np and city heights and am hella mexican. i know about pancho villa. (as in the mexican revolutionary hero, not a road) North Gate has better food. it's farther, of course, on 43rd off the 805. but definitely better. and ms. grant, you're right. fresh and easy isn't organic and idk why people think that. I thought perhaps someone had seen something that i hadn't read before so i checked their website. the only thing that could lead someone to think it's organic or someother buzz word is the farm to store in 24 hrs claim. But I've never seen any such signs in their stores.— October 12, 2010 8:16 a.m.
Heartless & Uneasy
I'm kind of suspicious of how fresh 'n' easy has such fresh produce. I tend to question things though... Although, I don't question their HUGE burritos and delicious meals! Seriously, when a meal is under 2 bucks since it expires the day i (or my mama) bought it, i'm not gonna be picky. Besides that, NPP is hands down the best value ever. I went in once to buy random meal items (rice, and veggies or the like) and spent less than 5 bucks, maybe even less than 2 dollars.— October 11, 2010 4:31 p.m.

MY HOOD.
"The real truth is that ghettos are just a product of our environment and our socio-economic system and although her positive attitude is something to admire its all not something to be taken as a serious social outlook. People need to stop being content with what they got and want more or our social standard will continue to decay." Although ghettos and lowerincome neighborhoods are a result of America's system (all encompassing, pick your favorite), I completely disagree with everything else sizko said... Being content and wanting an improved life are possible. It's a matter of realizing that what you have is enough to survive and thrive with. If there's more in life, great. If not, great. The idea of a social standard decaying is preposterous. It's this same ideal of going for more that caused the decay. Reaching and working for a greater standard--not being content-- will simply continue the cycle already in place.— October 4, 2010 8:57 a.m.
Pb sucks, and I'm old!
lol, you're welcome founder... that sentence was totally for your benefit too since i know you've mentioned it many times.— September 30, 2010 9:44 a.m.
back at the ranch
"I am curled up in the fetal position on the floor of the room I rent sobbing violently because I have just spilled a bag of sugar all over the room, and the ants are already showing up." Good thing you're back home! It sounds, gbera, like you were WAY too stressed out. No use crying over spilled milk, or sugar. And don't worry about living with your parents. Enjoy it!— September 30, 2010 9:09 a.m.
Pb sucks, and I'm old!
"Show me five people you know who want to move from North Park to PB, and I’ll show you a unicorn." I'm one of five, then. Can I be the unicorn's horn? But then again, what would I know? I'm only a (barely) 23 yr old in NP. That being said, I'm finding it rather hard to not be offended by this and your generalizations, Gerrwarr. NP has it's share of d-bags, frat guys and PB transfers. "My thought process is living alone and getting a dog in North Park. Drinking wine and going on dates to places that don’t have sports teams plastered across the walls." 30 isn't old. Not by the least bit. This quote, however, makes you sound 50. Declaring yourself old makes one sound and seem old (I do it too). You're not old. I'd say, Gerrwarr, you're in a different stage of life now. One, that doesn't seem to fit so so well with PB. Embrace it. Live it up. And continue taking taxis to NP, i know the residents prefer it.— September 30, 2010 8:48 a.m.

High HIV Infection Rate Discovered Among Tijuana Gays
Does someone have a link to the article in El Mexicano? I wasn't able to locate the story online. Was the health fair meant for gay men only, or for anyone who wanted to get checked? And concerning the shocked and surprised gay men, I'd say, as long as people continue to be shocked--regardless of sex or sexual orientation--there isn't enough education and prevention; especially if some of these young men are leading a heterosexual/closeted life.— September 29, 2010 8:58 a.m.
