Escondido City Council Told Homeless Center Inadequate
lmao! wow, a whole 40 people were fed once by the mayor! someone give this man a medal! give me a break! obviously, the mayor didn't like Armstrong making a complain about the facilities, as the article says. The article doesn't mention how ARmstrong is related to the shelter...? Is he a volunteer, employee or without a home?— January 14, 2011 1:15 p.m.
The Big Rich, Part Two
Is the Jim Mills mentioned in this story the same from this story? (link below) http://www.sandiegoreader.com/weblogs/financial-c… And a previous cover story about SOHO? anyone know?— January 12, 2011 4:42 p.m.
Not So Sharpie
hahah! oh man, I had to look up the street. 46th is a split up street and runs north to south from city heights/talmadge to southcrest (by the 805 and oceanview)... silly me, I had forgotten that all numbered streets in SD run north to south. (really silly since I live on a numbered st and grew up on one). also, LH could also mean Lincoln Heights? South 46th is closer to Lincoln Park and the subsequent high school, which is west of 46th and the 805... I don't remember if there is a Lincoln Hts in diego...Grips was probably meant to be read as Crips. Which leads me to believe that the perp was black. I think it's hilarious, and sometimes offensive, how people that don't grow up in the 'hood' are always so shocked and taken aback when seemingly inconsequential 'hood' events/items reach their lives. I include myself in this, btw. Oh and not everyone that dresses or acts 'hood'/street is a perp/gangmember/out to get you. Sometimes one has play the part to survive. That's probably what the kid was trying to do.— January 12, 2011 3:22 p.m.
How old were you when you had your first drink?
17 isn't late blooming. I was 20 when I had my first drink. NYE 2007/2008.— January 11, 2011 3:06 p.m.
San Diego gangbangers pushed to college
"Author’s note: All the stories are true. A few names have been changed because of the characters’ circumstances or immigration status." That explains it... There was no Edgar from RC at Pt. Loma during 08 that was a senior.— January 11, 2011 10:32 a.m.
Del Cerro Baptist Church
The church provides the Organ Pavilion's tree for December nights, btw. Not gonna lie, it's pretty awesome. I was an angel and a dancer way back when, in '04 or '03. fun times.— January 7, 2011 4:59 p.m.
Illegal Street Vending Crackdown in City Heights
it should be *paleteros* not paleteras. one, most of the venders are men, and two, in a mixed gender group the masculine form of the noun is used. (think, los ni~os, for children)— January 5, 2011 8:58 a.m.
Detective "Vaguely" Recalls Threat against Kessler, Family
what's wrong w USB?— January 3, 2011 4:23 p.m.
I don't know where I live
