Food
It is in the Gaslamp area at: 535 Fifth St. It is where Moose's used to be. Their phone number is: 619-702-5595 They are also listed on Open Table.— January 16, 2009 8:03 a.m.
TREVOR HOFFMAN
Sorry about my terminology. Of course you are right about the "trade". I still think that the Padres could & should have done more to try to keep Trevor here for what will probably be his last year. He was about the only thing that generated fan "loyalty." If Kevin Towers goes with Sandy Alderson (what does he do?), I will definitely be happy!! You will definitely hear from me during the season and I truly hope we have a great season, fielding a AAA team.— January 9, 2009 11:29 a.m.
San Diego PADRES
ManicCasanova, you are right. Not sure if that was a typo or erroneous information. Thanks. Jeffreyrosan, I am trying to get people mad. Stir things up. I am hoping season ticket holders show up for the meeting on 12/16 and that the Padres organizational folks listen to comments. Thanks.— December 7, 2008 3:02 a.m.
San Diego PADRES
Hey Fred_Williams, when was the City honest & financially solvent???? OK, you did say relatively honest. The corruption, bribe taking, etc. have epitomized this City for sometime. You can go back to the Dominelli mess when several attorneys were disgraced (ponzi scheme), 1984. Developers have had the City Council in their pockets for a long time (Manchester, Bosa, MacMillan,& others). I have often wondered what it is about San Diego that attracts such people (3 Judges, attorneys, Roger Hedgecock, 3 City Councilpersons, etc.) As for John Moores, your assesment is pretty accurate. He got what he wanted from the City, proceeded to build a ballpark that is not user friendly, now is using the Padres as a pawn in the property settlement in his divorce. As for libel, he would have no case. Truth is a absolute defense!!!! Redevelopment is in trouble, as predicted by many. CCDC needs to just be shut down. The condo maket was ridiculously over built and now we have the Vantage Pointe mess. Another day, another story. Thanks for your comments. Auntsandiegospeaks— December 7, 2008 2:56 a.m.
MONEY
I did not use it as a quote, merely a statement. This blog was about using money, in both good & bad endeavors. Thanks for the comment.— December 5, 2008 4:42 a.m.
Downtown living
Dear stevewag23. What negativity. I am only requesting a decrease in volume after 11 pm. Since you apparently do not like living here (police state????), why do you stay? FYI, conventions are up, tourism is up and many people are visiting our fair city. Especially Europeans, since the dollar is down. I doubt that turning down the volume will make much difference in business. Let's try it and see. I was at Stingaree the other night and it did not appear to need life support. My suggestion is for you to "move it on out" to one of those places with more enlightened cultures. Before you go, please fill us in on the details. Where are these cultures? Apparently they do not have to be at work in the morning hours as they are still partying at 6 am????? If dinner is at 11 pm, then breakfast is at noon??— November 5, 2008 6:46 a.m.
Downtown living
I have filed with Noise abatement. They have yet to make a determination. bgrahamt is probably right about Altitude. Almost forgot about the Legend. I also agree that it is a mixed bag. I have lived downtown for over 10 years and I LOVE it. It is just difficult to sleep when it sounds like the band (recording) is in the room with you. Jayallen, the music is usually a DJ, but they do have occasional live bands. My real goal is to see what the standards are and see about some sort of compromise. Maybe the volume should be turned down at 10 or 11. Now it is LOUD from 9 to 1:30. It is a work in progress. I will keep you posted!— November 3, 2008 10:35 p.m.

OOPS, I mistakenly posted today's blog twice. Cannot figure out how to delete one of them. SO sorry.— October 24, 2008 1:59 p.m.
