the mighty Tundra
Funny pic, nan. (But I'm pretty sure both Tundra & Mushroom are boys.) I found an artist's rendering... http://picture-book.com/files/userimages/352u/vam… And a solo of Tundra: http://icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.com/200… He done TOLE you to back off, Sucka! Now you gonna gets it! http://cdnet.myxer.com/tn/c/801521/big/?t=2008091… :)— March 4, 2010 8:52 p.m.
Found a Peanut
Aw, Grant, you're an angel. (A ballsy, fibbing angel, but an angel nonetheless). Lucky little Peanut. :)— March 4, 2010 8:45 p.m.
TWITTER-PATED
nan, I actually live in the north Bay Area now, 54 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge (MapQuest). It's typically rainy and foggy right now, as I write this. Yuck. This kind of weather doesn't do my body OR my disposition any good. Previously, I lived in a small cabin up in Humboldt County (near the Eel River, on the road to Shelter Cove) from May '05 - Feb '06. And before that, San Diego, where I shoulda NEVER left! I've actually been receiving tourist junk in the mail from Oregon for the past several weeks. Thinking of a drive up there in the coming months.— March 4, 2010 8:43 a.m.
Weeping for Coco
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3lKbMBab18 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_jmDscGi7E :) WAY off topic now: Like Simon & Garfunkel's songs? So does this young lady, one of the world's great undiscovered talents. She's covered a number of S&G songs. This one still blows me away every time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdVZ3xrWe8w— March 4, 2010 8:19 a.m.
The Hurt Locker
"She takes a lot of time on the action scenes, or more broadly the tension scenes, and not much time in between, so that the three principals — Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, Brian Geraghty, each of them looking the part — are thin on character, static in development, no more than generic as opposed to individual soldiers." I felt that the almost relentless tension achieved by Bigelow effectively conveyed the sense of overload and exhaustion that is probably experienced by soldiers in such situations. I'd also say that independence and individuality are at odds with soldiering. The three men in the film are struggling to work as a unit, and it's critical that they do so. It is in fact the very different character of maverick SSG William James (Jeremy Renner) and by-the-book Sgt Sanborn (Anthony Mackie) that causes a tremendous amount of friction. Sometimes I wonder if Duncan actually views these films.— March 3, 2010 11:34 p.m.

Cuddle, you'll have to enlighten me as to how to give a truly malicious BJ. (I can only assume it involves biting.)— March 3, 2010 7:13 p.m.
Tundra # 7
Welcome to yet another edition of "The Pete Show," where the subject matter -- no matter what the blog entry is about -- always turns to exactly the same things. Over. And over. And over.— March 3, 2010 7:01 p.m.

Re #6: Yup, they look like a happy bunch. Kinda like they're actually ENJOYING talking to the person who's asking the question, instead of being harassed by some big, obnoxious, balding dude that they just want to get away from. I'll bet Jane's cute, ain't she? ;)— March 3, 2010 6:49 p.m.

I get what you're saying, Refried. Although what the choir teacher did was clearly inappropriate, constituted a serious lapse in judgment, and could even be psychologically damaging to the minor involved, there was certainly no malice there. A completely different kettle of fish than the King case, which has to do with EVIL (a word that should be used more often and by people other than fundamentalist Xians, IMO). *snipping the rest of my comments about how religious fanatics have hijacked that word so that nobody else wants to touch it*— March 3, 2010 9:36 a.m.
What's YOUR Favorite Twilight Zone?
TZ was just a couple years before my time, I think. I haven't seen that many of them, but my mind went right to "Eye of the Beholder" as well. Still relevant, especially here in the land of silicone and botox. :)— March 3, 2010 9:28 a.m.
