Trying to find love...
Ah, okay. I found it. There's a button for "Upgrade" in the upper right. You take a little test to make sure you're not a psycho (which I faked my way through quite handily) and then you get this info: https://www.plentyoffish.com/seriousmember.aspx First I've ever seen it. I'm not sure that's been available for very long. POF used to brag about being totally free. Tried OKcupid? http://www.okcupid.com/— March 27, 2010 8:41 p.m.
Trying to find love...
Re #11: May be a differential between male/female subscribers, Robbie. I've never even noticed a "Premium Service," nor is there anything that's off limits to me, as far as I can tell. I just checked it, & nothing's any different for me than it was back when I tried it. What are you not able to access?— March 27, 2010 6:12 p.m.
Tuned, You and Me

Inked/edited
Groovy as always, nanners. So, um, where do you get these pics, anyways? Or are they just your own candid shots of "friends?" :)— March 26, 2010 10:36 p.m.
Love Making Tips For Seniors
One of my past screen names was "Ima Littleweed." I said I was 96. Used to gross the younguns out by saying things like "Once you've had a woman with no teeth, you'll never go back, Sonny!!!" :)— March 26, 2010 10:31 p.m.

"Instead of the $200 for a kit kat..." Hruh? POF is free. Dude, they're all the same. Trust me. Most of 'em eve have the SAME PEOPLE on them.— March 19, 2010 6:36 a.m.
Update: Beautiful Jessie has come home! And: What we learned about lost/found animals
Re #51: From what I can gather, they appear to be membership based, for a flat fee. Nothing volunteers couldn't do better, I bet...— March 18, 2010 7:40 p.m.

Re #47: Yeah, I don't have any doubt that they make money. So do the dudes who email people about their issues in Nigeria. What I'm wondering is, how effective are they at getting results? THIS is what I wonder about.— March 18, 2010 7:19 p.m.

Regarding the "Amber Alert" type businesses, I'd be interested in finding out what their REAL success ratio is. How many pets are found due to their direct efforts? Here's what I'd do: I'd print off the home page of all these companies, head down to the county shelters and ask if they've ever even heard of them. I'd also contact all the rescue groups I mentioned before, and ask the same thing. Next, the veterinarians. These companies make it sound as if they alert all these entities. Find out if they actually do. I'm betting they don't do anything that a pet owner can't do for themselves, just by following the many suggestions already in these comments.— March 18, 2010 7:09 p.m.
