Re #5: Did you start snoring? That's one I haven't tried. The older I get, the less patience I have for bulls*** like this, and I didn't have much to begin with. Basically, I'm getting ruder with age, and not giving much of a rat's a**. Maxine is becoming my idol. :) http://static.open.salon.com/files/a_2_maxine_get…— March 29, 2010 5:39 p.m.

Right there with ya on the whole phone thing, Quilly. "But this isn’t the way phone conversations go. They’re long, drawn out affairs that can last anywhere from ten minutes, if you’re lucky, to an hour or beyond." You're lucky you're not a woman. It's apparently the way a lot of women "bond" -- calling to commiserate about a.)their mother b.)men in general, or their man in particular c.)their job. An hour? That's getting off light. Two minimum, entire evening if they can get away with it. If they were honest, they'd start the conversation with, "Congratulations! I've selected YOU to be my evening's entertainment! The challenge? To try to make you want to kill yourself, or at least chew off your own arm to get away from this phone call!" They don't take hints about how late it is, yawning while saying how early you have to get up the next day, that you were in the middle of dinner or cooking it, how you were just about to get into a bath, etc., etc., etc. You could literally say, "Both my house and I are on fire right now. Could I call you back?" and the female on the other end of the line wouldn't stop talking or have any reaction whatsoever. I'd rather get bitten by Sam. At least the torture's over quicker.— March 28, 2010 8:09 p.m.

"Any guy who loves animals and does not categorize them based on crap like guys love dogs/girls love cats stereotypes is an out of the gate mate for life." Yup. Cat-hating men are bad news. They usually don't really like women much, either. You can pretty much count on the cat-hating male to be a controller. "Me say you sit, YOU SIT!!!" *cat walks away* :)— March 28, 2010 7:45 p.m.

Home Again
I'll bet they're good, Cuddle. Patsy's apparently quite an amazing photog, herself. http://www.pbase.com/platscha— March 28, 2010 12:53 p.m.
Home Again
Re #5: Not to be confused with crosstownphotoguy, who's seldom seen. :) Come on, Mark, repost Patsy's pic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoqDYcCDOTg&featur… Then you can hold an "Action Photography" workshop when she kicks your a**. See how everybody wins? :)— March 28, 2010 9:41 a.m.
Hilton Head, South Carolina
What a peaceful little vignette to start a Sunday morning. In my experience, encounters like this seem to happen when a loved one has recently departed. Especially with birds.— March 28, 2010 9:25 a.m.
For I Will Consider My Cat Jeoffry
Don't see how. It was a male poet who wrote the poem. Seems to me, it's 'his' blog entry, circa 1760 or so. Even Jeoffry the cat was a boy. :)— March 28, 2010 9:16 a.m.

So, the cats shipped him to Zimbabwe? Heheh. Cats have a great sense of humor that way. :)— March 27, 2010 8:45 p.m.
