Chula Vista goes all 21st Century
Ah yes, you most certainly can tell much about a person by those who support them financially and via PACS during their campaigns. What is that saying 'follow the money'?— November 13, 2015 4 p.m.
Chula Vista considers all-mail voting
'Mr. Ross, in the blue sweater' is a wise man - no doubt the years and his experiences have garnered him much wisdom.— November 5, 2015 8:53 a.m.
Chula Vista considers all-mail voting
WOW, it appears many are forgetting how wonderful democracy is. This gives 'phoning it in' a whole new meaning. Folks, if it is too much trouble to go to the polls and vote, well, what can I say? Amazing where elected officials 'choose' to look for ways to save. But then, no doubt, too many I am seen as someone who is behind the times, aka 'OLD'.— November 4, 2015 8:54 p.m.
Development-crazy on Chula Vista's west side
The lack of regard the CV Council shows for west side residents is growing - for those who have called the west side home for many many years it is is growing ever more apparent WE HAVE LOST OUR VALUE IN THE EYES OF THE COUNCIL and Mayor. Less parks, illegally parked motor homes/18 wheelers, dirty streets, vagrants and no code enforcement - the one great common denominator - the people - alas, we see our value too bad the Council and Mayor doesn't. Mayor out galavanting around to other countries - time to check in Ma'am - time to do your job!— November 2, 2015 7:38 a.m.

Perhaps some data could be gathered regarding the involvement of the parents. Far too often we look to the educators and Admin as the culprits in under achieving schools - when In fact it is the supporting role of the parents that is lacking IN MANY CASES. I realize that many parents may take exception to my comment - I base it on many years of observation as a community member - schools host a meeting regarding education and hardly any parents turn out - but,,,, let the subject matter be sports related and there are not enough chairs. *** to those parents who are caring enough to get involved and show up - no doubt your interest reflects in the performance of your child! As always, just my opinion— October 28, 2015 8:16 p.m.

jnor - perhaps, just perhaps it is those who are involved that have the public concerned. Worth considering.— October 22, 2015 12:52 p.m.
Castle Park schools besieged by age
In attempting to capitalize the 'C' in Carberry Dr. Carberry was omitted from the list of professionals who have brought so much expertise and integrity to our District along with Dr. Janney.— October 22, 2015 12:49 p.m.
Castle Park schools besieged by age
To sum it all up, the tax paying community of Castle Park (and others such as Mar Vista, both Middle and High, Hilltop Middle as well as Granger and Bonita Vista High) have been SHORT CHANGED. There has been much waste of our Prop O dollars for example the 399k we paid to JACOBS for the Long Ranfpge Master Facility Plan however who is now gone leaving the Long Range Master Facility Plan for the District Facility Staff to draft. While on the Education side of things there has been much improvement thanks to Dr. Janney, Dr. Fulcher, Ms. Alvarez the highly respected educators and Administrators - the fact that we have seen no real change in Facilities as it pertains to quality Project Management and data gathering is troubling. Parents, if you want change - you need to show up and speak up at the Board meetings. Time to demand the changes we were promised during the recent campaigns. And I say again - we on the west side are fortunate to have Title 1 monies, tutoring, EXCELLENT TEACHERS/ADMIN and our wonderful students - and those are but 'some' of the positives. Thank You Board member Segura for caring so deeply. Castle Park community, Mr. Segura and his wife so believe in the qualitiey of education of The Castle Parks that their own child(ren) attend Castle Park! A special Thank You to Ms. Malari (spelling?) and Ms. Mitrovich - the passion they expressed for their student bodies and staff rang loud and clear!!!!!— October 22, 2015 12:13 p.m.
Nonprofit bingo hall proposed for Chula Vista
Non profits you say? I find that hard to believe. I seem to remember Non Profits as one of the issues Sweetwater had. It was more than interesting how VERY much money was involved and just how many alerts could be found on Guidestar that were associated to those now infamous Non Profits. PEOPLE, PEOPLE, PEOPLE - Bingo as a non profit fund raiser belongs in a Church, not on a strip of prime property in Chula Vista. It will be interesting to watch the votes of individual C.V. Council members.— October 21, 2015 10:22 p.m.
This county is lousy for the disabled
