Mr. Alvarez - I have been and continue to be a staunch supporter. I have resided I n this community (south of C.V.) for 40+ years now and you are the best representative we have had. I appreciate your candor and have to wonder if the lack of funding is due to demographics. I am very knowledgeable regarding the issues that surround Sweetwater - the District has failed to look out for the students who have to walk to school on extremely dangerous roads. Broken promises - not new to SUHSD. If Mr. Taylor is one of the concerned parents, I would recommend that he and other parents attend Board meetings and voice their concerns. One thing Sweetwater detests - publicity. You want your children dealt with equitably - show up, stand up and speak up. You all pay taxes, that should mean something— October 3, 2014 9:37 p.m.

I am wondering how many other School Boards have such a picture in their history? Are you counting the number of security personnel - both private (paid for with our tax dollars because we are such a bad bunch) and Chula Police Dept.? What you are seeing is not the totality of the security that evening - oh CONTRAR! their were others in the front of the Board Room and also some outside. IF Jim Cartmill would have had the decency to hold the meeting at a venue that could hold the numbers in attendance at, let's say a Chula High Performing Arts Center, all of the money on SECURITY would not have been needed - not that it was to begin with. This picture defines the majority of our past Board's dysfunction. It is almost as bad as McCann calling out the Police Force over his illegally placed campaign sign - the one a community member (Kevin O'Neill brought to the meeting taking McCann to task for blanketing the City with his campaign signs). I will never forget what the Sgt. said when I was escorted (by other police personnel) over to speak to him "a sign is what they needed ALL of us for"? "Sir, this John McCann we are talking about, I can't believe he called you". yep a 64 year old grandmother anniej had taken the sign and put it in my car, intending to turn it in to the Chula Vista Public Works Dept. "Well Sgt. You see I am standing on principle, I put the sign in my car, which will force Mr. McCann to have to take his time to go down and explain his actions to the City". Sgt. - "Ma'am, is there any way I can convince you to give us the sign". Me " With all due respect no". Just then the 4th patrol car pulled up and I thought Chula Vista's finest had better things to do than deal with John McCann's childish behavior or me standing on principle. Yes folks this story written by Ms. Luzzaro and my interaction with John McCann that evening are truly indicative of just how bad things had spiraled out of control under Jim Cartmill and John McCann's lack of leadership - both incidents reflect just how preposterous it is that either McCann or Cartmill have decided to run for anything other than 'father, husband, son or brother of the year' 'again'!— September 25, 2014 3:09 p.m.

Eastlaker - Oskidoll I had written a rather long response but alas, it disappeared into the outer sphere of the Internet. Hopefully you both know the deep respect I have for you - each of you has led me to consider other view points. I support Kevin O'Neill. Not to say that I agree with him on all issues. Why? Mr. O'Neill - whether you approve of those he rubs elbows with or some of his views he does have integrity. He is a very charitable man who donates his time and giveS thousands to worthy causes and unlike others we have seen in office does not go around beating on his chest 'see what I have done'. He has been attending the Board meetings for a very long time educating himself on the issues, introducing him to the players and the pretenders. O'Neill has put verbs in his sentences, he is a doer. He has brought a great deal of expertise to the BOC. Now, he and I have butted his heads on some issues - but in truth I am not looking for a candidate that agrees with me on all topics - BUT, one thing for sure he would NEVER, EVER sick a PI on me or anyone simply because we vehemently disagreed with him. Having a Board member who listens is important. No doubt if O'Neill wins, and I hope he does, I will be watching. And WHEN not IF an agenda item is brought forward that I do not agree with there I will stand at the podium making my point - and. I am quite confident he would never allow me or any community member to BE LIMITED TO A MERE 1 MINUTE TO PROVIDE SUPPORT DOCUMENTATION.
