oskidoll - well let's analyze the documented data - 1- flier shows empty chair - hmmm, he did not attend the candidate forum 2- flier show 'gandara's' sweet goodbye contract - sure does look like Mc Cann's signature 3- flier show campaign donations from contractors and SGI - Registrar of Voters website has that for review That would 3 for 3. Well folks, as if it can't get any more BIZARRE. Rumors are running rampant - John McCann will be holding a press conference today to announce he is suing ----? I am guessing here that he is not liking all of those mailers C.V. residents are receiving? The mailers that detail the 'gandara' contract. The mailers that offer proof of the campaign donations he took. And a few more. So, tell me who is 'managing' McCann's campaign? Do they not realize that this alleged interview is going to stir the interests of the voters - no doubt they will pull out their tablets "let's take a look here, who is this guy?, did he or didn't he"? There it will be for all researching to see THE TRUE REFLECTION OF JOHN MCCANN - the bad,the ugly and the very questionable decisions of the man who promised so much and delivered so little! AND,,,,,,,, what do you want to bet that somewhere in the interview he will 'use' the fact that he is a Vet? While we appreciate his service, we are SICK TO DEATH OF HEARING ABOUT IT OUT OF HIS MOUTH!!!!!! My Dad too was a vet - as a retired 40+ Vet he volunteered to go BACK to Vietnam because he was a Corpsman and believed the young boys (of my generation) needed medics on the field. NOT ONCE, did my Dad EVER 'use' what he did - as a matter of fact, truth be told, I have never heard any Vet use their service like this guy. NO, Vets I know, while proud to have served, want no recognition - they did it because it was the right thing to do for the Country they love. What I would like to hear from McCann is a list of fulfilled promises that he kept - with supporting data of course. And I am not referring to the hard work of the teachers that reflect improved test scores. NO, I WANT TO KNOW WHAT PROMISES HE HONORED - and I have a toothpick he could write them on - no doubt there will be room left over. Just my opinion— October 16, 2014 11:12 a.m.

Oskidoll, Ensenadamarie, erupting - well one thing for sure, it appears that 'business as usual' is alive and well for those who are allegedly seeking to use vs. serve. I too have had many telecons regarding suspicion around Mr. Grossman's new residence and how long the betting person is looking to wager he will be there. Might he move back to his Eastlake home the day after the elections? What are the rules? Rumors that people want it investigated by authorities. Personally I do not believe Grossman has a snow balls chance - but that is just me. McCann's forms that show how much he received from contractors and the management company charged with overseeing our Prop O dollars clearly indicate there was something about McCann they liked. Now what might that have been? His documented voting history shows he consistently voted with Cartmill and Ricasa - MIGHT JUST HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT. Visduh - it is well documented that I have been commenting on Mr. McCann for years. During that time I too have wondered WHY? WHY couldn't he have chosen to honor his campaign promises and be the real deal? At this point it remains clear to me, he owed much to those who financially backed his campaign for the 2010 SUHSD Board seat. The debt to them took precedence over his promises to the community of voters. Take a moment and think how different things would be for him, would be for us IF JUST ONCE A POLITICIAN HONORED ALL OF THEIR CAMPAIGN JARBLE? This time? - maybe....... We will see candidates who are choosing to serve vs. use - because quite frankly we have endured the promise breakers for far too long,— October 15, 2014 7:54 a.m.

Promises, promises, promises - resulting in NO, NADA, NIL follow thru. While McCann's recent campaign add states he is 'recognized for cleaning up Sweetwater' (paraphrase) - the community is wondering who is doing the recognizing - in this case it is John McCannT HIMSELF! Voters are astute enough to identify that he is simply grasping for straws - the populace is voting for Padilla - they have seen what McCann has not done and are fed up with his antics, broken promises and self praise!!!!! Politics in the South Bay is changing - same ol' same ol' will no longer be tolerated.— October 14, 2014 6:12 p.m.
Sweetwater's new safety school
Mr. Mencken - I consider myself pretty intelligent, however, even after reading this story 5 times I am no where nearer understanding it. What does the building in the picture have to do with Sweetwater? Are you referring to Sweetwater Union High School District?— October 13, 2014 1:02 p.m.
Voiceless children of San Ysidro
This is simply an appalling situation with the students consistently being the unsuspecting victims. The PREVIOUS Superintendent and the inept San Ysidro Board are at the heart of this mess. Where was the County Board of Ed in all of this? MIA - that is where. Their job is to VALIDATE the financial stability of school Districts - look, the San Ysidro District did NOT become insolvent overnight - so,,,, I ask WHAT ROLE DID THEY PLAY IN THIS CATASTOPHRE? While I do not personally know Mr. Cameron, I do know that he is a man of integrity, based on his stellar reputation. He inherited this mess. San Ysidro community members, I say this with all due respect - GET INVOLVED - vote for Board members responsibly and most importantly ATTEND BOARD MEETINGS, educate yourselves on the issues and demand proper representation.
