Wow, I go away for work for a week and all hell breaks loose. I think everyone be able to vote for whomever they want. But everyone should be informed before making a decision but Grossman really that one is a joke. In reading all of the stories and posts and attending one or two board meetings what this board does not need is someone that this superintendent wants or needs on this board. Look people Pearl is out one way or another so I 100% prefer Cameron in there now, and Lopez she is a little spit fire who is taking Brand to task and reminding him she is his boss and not the other way around. Sweetwater Board Takes Heat at Meeting
What the heck is wrong with these people? These stories are better than watching any reality show on TV. Seeing how ignorant people can be without trying to act in front of a camera is actually priceless. These board members and superintendent just dig their hole deeper and deeper dont they? Why wouldnt they vote to add campaign contributions to this gift thing it is so stupid for two of them to recuse themselves WTH. My question to Brand would be why the rush? Why not make sure you get it right so the public will leave this alone? He is just as corrupt as the board he serves. Kudos to that Ms. Lopez for making a decision and voting no since she didnt like the way it was written, I truly think this lady has balls (no offense Ms. Lopez). What gives when a board lets a superintendent call a member of the public a liar in open session. I hope the people that were at this meeting when this conversation took place come forward to show Brand as the one for being the liar. What The Heck is Going On at the Sweetwater Union High School District?
Wow simpleton I find most of his posts on the money. If Ms. Lopez is given a pass on everything could it be she is the only one who is finally listening and the other 4 members are sitting there like monkeys with their eyes over their mouth, eyes, ears and hands in the air. Sweetwater Schools Board Aborts Meeting Agenda, Not Brand
The only thing I can say is follow the money that will lead this community to many answers. Based on the language used above the fight is not over if Brand was not coming back they would have appointed this Maria lady to be the Interim Superintendent. They are buying time until the next board meeting where it will probably be hidden somewhere in the agenda or be very ambiguous such as the item last night. I came to this meeting wanting to see what this hoopla is about in this district and wow did I get an eye and earful. One speaker was almost thrown out because a board member had a hissy fit when his wife's name was mentioned, well sir tell your wife to stop expressing opinions in public and she wouldn't get you into this mess. The president is an absolute idiot who was just waiting for the two minutes that people were given to hit the gavel and go onto the next speaker she wasn't even paying attention, The way the board was sitting it looked like little Ms. Lopez was on a deserted island or way far out in left field by herself. This school board needs to listen a bit and stop thinking about the allegiances to people who don't support students this Brand sounds like bad news and completely ego oriented!— September 11, 2012 9:37 a.m.
No Confidence Petition for Sweetwater's Ed Brand
I thought President Pearl was going to call a public meeting for transportation she insisted that was going to be done in front of many people and then said she couldn't because she is not allowed to call a special meeting isnt she the president. But for this she calls a special meeting WTH, so they don't care that the students have to walk further with 15 lbs on their backs at night but it is important to get this man a contract with an increase in salary. What the heck is wrong with these people DO THEY NOT LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE AND THE STUDENTS. DO THEY NOT CARE ABOUT THE DANGERS SOME STUDENTS FACE IN WALKING HOME ALONE BECAUSE THEIR PARENTS BOTH HAVE JOBS TO PAY THEIR TAXES AND COAT THE FAT POCKETS OF THIS DISTRICT. No Confidence Vote For SUHSD Superintendent Ed Brand Being Circulated
The Sweetwater saga only gets worse and worse! Get rid of this guy he is a ego maniac! I did a little research on this Brand guy and also found out some information about the compact for success and his ego. Now I know that this is in the best interest of the students so he says but has this board ever asked for numbers and followed students achievements. With the number of students that graduate or not from Sweetwater you would think that they would want to see some kind of information. They have people on the payroll at the district or at SDSU, the compact is not free. The compact has been tweaked over and over again so that students don't have to achieve much to be part of it kind of like this superintendent and board expectations are always lowered so that they can be just a little bit above the bar which we all know they are not. Do these people that sit on the board have any ethics or do they care. What a sick sick district you people have that is why there is no money for anything but to pad this guys pockets for pet projects. It seems like the people posting know and care more about the kids than the people that are making the decisions.— September 4, 2012 10 a.m.

Annie J you make some good points in all of your posts but I do believe one of the most important ones is that of Ms. Quinones being forceful when running these meetings and to stop being influenced by the others and especially Dr. Brand. I think she needs to read the bylaws, be well versed in running a meeting and stop having Brand and McCann grandstand. She can prove herself as a leader if she wants or keep the image of what people really think of her and that is one dumb lady. Ms. Quinones the ball is in your court on how you want people to remember your tenure, I believe you were told at this meeting that your fellow board members want you out of there and received a legal opinion about this you are in a pit with a bunch of snakes now we just need to see who is the most lethal and who comes out on top. Why oh why does this district have their head up the a... They can't get scores up with textbooks and really think the Ipad is the solution. I think this interim Superintendent is just trying to claim some kind of legacy for him that he started these programs. The biggest problem is that he is doing it on students backs. Why don't people that live down there ask questions why are they letting these people run things the way they are. Sweetwater is becoming another Bell, CA this district must be close to insolvency can't anyone check? This Brand fellow should really stop thinking about his ego and legacy and should focus in on why kids are leaving this district and what the problems on.
