NPR not facing an existential crisis
KPBS used to have a great show that showcased new music but got dropped. BBC News broadcasts were dropped. Excellent reporting of news has degraded. Overall I have not been inspired much by KPBS and don't listen anymore.— June 28, 2016 10:18 p.m.
U-T owner omits San Diego from video
Yep, the people at tronc are cowards, afraid of what people actually think of them. My guess is that people in San Diego are too smart to be interested in their crap video's and that's why we're excluded. LA doesn't seem to be interested either.— June 21, 2016 3:16 p.m.
Future of Clairemont Keil's grocery store undecided
Keil's is vital part of the local community and is a store everyone likes. If the developer thinks he's going to boot Keil's, they're going to have a fight on their hands from the people that live in the area.— June 19, 2016 5:28 p.m.
Civil breakdown at Trump appearance
Compare this to the Bernie Sanders rally at the Convention Center. There were way more Bernie supporters than at Trump's rally, even including all the protesters, and it was peaceful and joyous. Total police at the event was about 10 to 20.— May 28, 2016 11:08 a.m.
Another day, another $750,000 for Chargers' stadium cause
If Spanos is able to con San Diego voters into falling for this boondoggle, it's certain the city and our tax dollars are going to get dragged into this. Spanos knows once he can get this into construction, he can blackmail the city in more financial support, meaning tapping into our taxes.— May 21, 2016 12:41 p.m.
SDG&E undergrounding case goes to court..next year
There's no question that the utility lines in San Diego should be undergrounded. What I object to is the amount of time it's taking to do that. The fee is fine with me if they step up the schedule.— May 14, 2016 1:34 p.m.
Can San Diego’s big GOP money beat the NFL?
Not with my tax dollars!! Stop trying to con us into paying for a stadium with the tax money we expect to go towards the infrastructure and repairs that ALL San Diego citizens use. Only a small number of San Diegians want a new stadium and a much smaller number of them would actually use it. How many books, news articles and movies does it take that show what a boondoggle stadiums are? This has gone on way too long. One thing we need to do is vote Kevin Faulconer out of office this election.— May 11, 2016 10 a.m.
San Diego's welfare plan for hotel owners
I prefer to call this the Stadium-Con, because that's exactly what it is. A convoluted con job.— April 28, 2016 2:57 p.m.
Gotta watch those Navy “internal control weaknesses”
@Sjtorres The article has two examples of taxpayers being defrauded. It might not be San Diego taxpayers specifically, but clearly US taxpayers are being ripped off. Defense contractors have a LONG history of fraud, so this is not surprising.— March 9, 2016 11:06 a.m.
Chargers redeclare wish for downtown stadium
No No No. San Diego taxpayer are not going to pay for a new stadium that nobody but the owners and a few rabid fans want. There are scores of many books, documentaries and articles that all show what a scam these stadiums are. It's time to get serious and vote anybody supporting a tax-payer funded stadium out of office.— February 24, 2016 7:52 p.m.
