La Jollans not soothed by airport authority
The noise in La Jolla is nothing compared to the noise experienced by anyone living near the airport. The poor mistreated La Jollians should spend a day in Loma Portal, Ocean Beach, Bankers Hill or Little Italy and see what that's like. We don't hear about anyone in Pacific Beach complaining, which is louder than in La Jolla.— February 19, 2017 7:52 p.m.
Wells Fargo’s wheels are falling off the stagecoach
Protests against Wells Fargo's financing of the Dakota Access Pipeline, and revelations that Well Fargo's charter prohibiting it from investing companies guilty of human rights abuse (forcing them to divest) are also causing the demise of the bank. But the greatest problem most customers see is the crappy fees and policies that Wells Fargo has.— January 11, 2017 9:59 p.m.
After the Goldsmith, his politics on trial
Jan Goldsmith has always been a politician more than an attorney. He is consistently in the news playing his part in the old political elite that has dominated San Diego government. He's just another political hack with big dreams and ruthless tactics aimed at making himself a power broker at other people's expense.— January 7, 2017 10:23 a.m.
Clairemont real estate up for grabs
It should be pointed out that David Potter is the only person in the entire area (other than Bruce Kleege, the owner of the hotel) that supports SANDAG's plan. Everyone else that lives in the area are against SANDAG's terrible misuse of the property, and have repeatedly and strongly opposed their plan. This is an important, key parcel that local residents have been waiting for decades to see developed into a community serving resource. What SANDAG is planning to build is an insult to the people that live in the area and is a loss for all citizens of San Diego. Everyone should be outraged at the insensitivity and arrogance that SANDAG has shown towards the the property owners that will forever have to live with the SANDAG plan.— December 17, 2016 11:20 a.m.
SDSU and the big-money politics behind Lilac Hills Ranch
Another developer scam where San Diego County taxpayers use their funds to make private investors rich instead of repairing infrastructure and providing public services. Voters in the town are so easily taken advantage of.— November 6, 2016 2:34 p.m.
Mobbed-up memories evoked by Trump's SD donor list
It's no surprise that the mob is supporting Trump. His role model, friend and groomer was the mobs favorite lawyer, Roy Cohn. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/21/us/politics/don…— October 24, 2016 5:27 p.m.
Cate's Corn Hole stuffed by SDG&E's hard cash
Another case of Republicans and their rich owners stuffing something right up the voters corn hole.— October 1, 2016 3:25 p.m.
Navy gets go-ahead to use sonar harmful to sealife
The Navy is effectively torturing sea life to death. If the Navy wants to keep SURTASS, they should use it the way they use nuclear weapons; as a last resort and not a commonly use technology.— October 1, 2016 3:14 p.m.
Facebook makes Russ T Nailz abandon alias
Facebook should make it's founder use his real name: Greedybitch MeMeMe SchmuckerBORG.— July 13, 2016 1:46 p.m.
Protesters warm up to tear down Cabrillo Bridge plan
Building a multi-story parking garage will destroy the character of the park, The Cabrillo Bridge is an iconic part of San Diego's identity and history. The traffic plan is flawed and will permanently ruin sections of the park. Irwin Jacob has made fantastic contributions to San Diego but he is imposing himself on the people of this city in an unacceptable way this time. He needs to back off and let the citizens decide what they think is best rather than dictate what he wants. Jacobs is in danger of creating something he will be hated for this time and will be sorry.— July 3, 2016 3:05 p.m.
