Ed's gone, but this Sweetwater shenanigan isn't
Mr. Shinoff's firm represents MOST of the school Districts here in San Diego. I think it would not be an understatement to say that Mr. Shinoff, and his firm have found a perfect formula for staying on as District Counsels. they protect and preen the feathers of the Board Majorities. My personal opinion, of course.— November 21, 2014 12:37 p.m.
Ed's gone, but this Sweetwater shenanigan isn't
Sadly, that is the general situation in most of our school districts here in San Diego.— November 21, 2014 12:35 p.m.
Ed's gone, but this Sweetwater shenanigan isn't
Interesting take, anniej. My take on the County Board is that the whole lot of them are woefully incompetent and rarely spend much time really studying any issues. They do seem to be pretty impressed with themselves, however.— November 21, 2014 12:34 p.m.

Does Neylon bring along her son because she can't find babysitters? And if she doesn't bring him along, does she leave early because she has to pick him up? You have to wonder why a woman with a child care issue that seems so difficult to solve would want to spend precious time on such a board. Surely the District could find some other representatives when her term is up?— November 21, 2014 12:30 p.m.
Some will lose Sunroad’s parking game in Kearny Mesa
That's great if that is your lifestyle choice. For others, a car may be something they consider a necessity. In any event, isn't this the same developer who had a cozy relationship with the kings of our local government and had to finally take off a floor or two of one of their buildings? Isn't this the same developer who had a deal with Filner over right of way? Maybe that's the answer right there?— November 13, 2014 2:40 p.m.
Encinitas cyclist run over by North County Transit bus at Camp Pendleton
I believe there was a lawsuit, but what the heck? The bus driver didn't know he hit these three? Why did he keep driving? Is he still driving buses?— November 12, 2014 12:40 p.m.
Dollars and nonsense in Chula Vista
I beg to differ a bit. Mr. McCann will vote as his overlords in the Republican Party direct him. There is no wind blowing.— November 12, 2014 10:51 a.m.
El Cajon immigrant shelter draws Iowan's ire
It's not hard to understand why the cost per child is so expensive. After all. President and CEO Juan Sanchez and his wife, Jennifer Nelson together pull in nearly $500K a year between them, according to their 990 form. Gotta love folks who see a need and figure a way to pony up $95 million in Government grants to take care of the problem.— November 10, 2014 3:50 p.m.
Marine says ranger roughed him up
"No question we have not had sound top-down leadership for decades." That just needed to be repeated on its own for emphasis.— November 10, 2014 11:09 a.m.
Tenacious G
Can we all volunteer to be members in "San Diegans for Open Government" so Mr. Goldsmith has plenty of people to investigate?— November 10, 2014 11:06 a.m.
