Why so many pedestrian accidents in San Diego?
If you are a pedestrian, you should assume your life is in danger when you cross any street. The "Walk" sign does nothing to stop a car that is ignoring speed limits or signal lights to stop. There was a group called "Ocean Studies Institute" led by David Leighton back in the 70's that did a lot of work in aquaculture up near San Onofre, as I recall.
