How I ended up in Marrakech the first time
I hope I didn't post this before. I'm such a dork— May 27, 2012 4:27 p.m.
Slow Your Roll: A Writer’s Cacophony
I swear to god you channel my thoughts. I need to vote for you a million times.— May 26, 2012 8:42 a.m.
Freedom Isn't Free
Dad was naval officer and reservist by time I arrived. Mom was a wave in Honolulu . Went to lots of cousins boot camp graduations at NTC, both my parents in the ground in Riverside - never been there. An old friend whose parents are also there and I have discussed cocktails near their graves. They never met in life, but live in the same neighborhood after passing. I appreciate those who serve. I was always grateful I was a girl and exempt from the draft. Those who lost their lives for an ideal or a cause they believed in should be celebrated. Freedom isn't free. The cost of lives lost over a sense of entitlement about our political and cultural beliefs and borders however is too high, from my perspective. I wish no one harm. There will always be those who will cause harm, and those who feel the need to enter the fight. I think you are a hero by your actions. A uniform alone doesn't clearly identify the angels in our midst.— May 25, 2012 6:43 p.m.
Flags On Graves Always Make Me Cry
Touching, authentic, uplifting, and obviously inspiring. Love the flags on babies graves and the dead marathon contrast/ and transition. Even Encinitas, old Encinitas was an unlocked doors, dogs run free, bathing suits in restaurants, oldies and youngies drinking on the beach. In the early 70s. And I'm still a "maybe I'll have to leave the country that would even consider some of the wacky candidates running for president on the red side. " I was 16 when we visited the easy rider above ground cemetery mortuary in new Orleans, and 44 when I went to see Jim Morrison in paris, and 25 when I saw the gorgeous artificial flower laden seaside graves in Martinique. In 94 I wandered through cemeteries on achill island on the west coast of Ireland looking for family. Stone henge and the burial mounds. Diana Gabaldon's back in time saga thru the stones in scotland with darling Jamie the man of my dreams. Yeah Friday.— May 25, 2012 6:28 p.m.

Vending Machines
Loved this. Just realized the soda machines are gone...so familiar to me- now I'm wondering how long ago. That was after bottled soft drinks right- with the bottle opener on the door and the wooden crate for empties on the ground next to the machine? I loved jaw breakers and m and m machines- and penny abba zabbas. Nice little trip down memory lane- loved the feeding the bears tram driver. I remember buying food all over the place from machines to feed ducks, goats, and the swallows up at San Juan cap. Too bad kids aren't allowed to interact this way anymore. Risk management most likely. Thanks for this!— May 25, 2012 6:03 p.m.
