The scandal of cell phones at classical music concerts
Capture the moment... relax and enjoy. Comparing turning the pages, coughing or loud breathing is apple and oranges. It's necessary to turn the page or cough occasionally. It's not necessary to film everything, and re-live every moment twice. Filming everything is extremely annoying to others, but in today's society, it's the norm. Whatever happened to on or off?— October 3, 2019 9:54 a.m.
Was the West Point Loma water meter being read?
That's not true. I have a lot on my plate (taking care of elderly parents) and at times humor is the only thing that keeps me from losing my sanity. I'm used to working, and I have all day off. I wish you well...— October 1, 2019 9:21 p.m.
Was the West Point Loma water meter being read?
I was being facetious. You have to learn to read between the lines... sarcasm.— October 1, 2019 11:33 a.m.
Was the West Point Loma water meter being read?
If you feel your water meter, electric meter, etc. isn't being read, put black tape over it. When they come out to "investigate" they will see that's it's impossible to read. My parents did it in the 70s with the electric company, and needless to say, you'll win. We were vacationing in Canada, and the electric bill "went up." So the tape went on after the bill came. Our meter wasn't broken or inaccessible (right inside the gate - patio - no plants). The employees were being lazy. Imagine.— September 30, 2019 8:40 p.m.
Who are the drag queens at Chula Vista library?
A lot of us lead healthy, normal lifestyles and we appreciate and respect journalists that have the guts to report stories that others don't want to cover. You, on the other hand are verbally abusive, and that's a reflection on YOU.— September 26, 2019 12:27 p.m.
Morgan Dene Oliver, after losses on SoccerCity and Harbor Island, gets UCSD Foundation seat
The more money you have, the more EVERYTHING you have. This isn't breaking news. I agree that speech shouldn't be "bought," but I learned a long time ago that politics is dirty business, and I don't trust any of them. I'm not that foolish. San Diego is less corrupt than most big cities. It might seem more corrupt because you live here, and you're not aware of what's going on elsewhere.— September 26, 2019 10:32 a.m.
Ocean Beach locals escort bully out of town
Choose your battles wisely, and learn to keep your eyes and ears open, and keep your mouth shut.— September 23, 2019 1:45 p.m.
Who are the drag queens at Chula Vista library?
"Adult entertainers are not age-appropriate for children." No kidding! Drag queens in a public library is absurd, and any parent who takes their children to this type of an event isn't thinking clearly. It is emotional abuse of children. Healthy lifestyles should be promoted, and if you choose to live an unhealthy lifestyle, please leave innocent children out of the equation. You can accept people for who they are without exposing yourself to their lifestyle. There's a difference.— September 18, 2019 2:34 p.m.
The Louisiana Purchase
If this is illegal (code violations) it shouldn't be allowed. Airbnb is even worse. If you can't afford a hotel, you can't afford to vacation. If you can't afford (or don't want to spend the money) there are less expensive hotels.— September 17, 2019 5:51 p.m.
Amy Chu and the Reader
San Diego history... great article. I enjoyed the back in the day pictures.— September 15, 2019 5:53 p.m.
