Treated everyone to breakfast at Oceanside Denny's
I have no idea what I'd do with a stolen credit card, but I certainly wouldn't use it.— January 13, 2020 12:18 p.m.
O.B. cop with a heart of gold
This was a nice gesture on the part of Rite Aid and the police officer, but if you let him get away with theft, and buy him more - you're sending the wrong message. Don't be surprised if he returns, despite the trespass order.— January 13, 2020 11:09 a.m.
Bloomberg and Jacobs open San Diego TV ad wars
Bloomberg and Jacobs are wealthy. Did you read the article?— January 7, 2020 11:46 a.m.
Mexican minimum wage raised to $6.50 a day
Anyone can easily do unskilled jobs like fast food and retail. Those jobs are easier today then they were years ago. Back in the day they didn't have scanners in retail or debit/credit card machines. You had do the money yourself. There are unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled jobs. Are you really that clueless?— January 4, 2020 9:08 p.m.
The life and death of Oceanside mobile homes
Do they lack the resources to own the land or was owning the land not an option? I would think owning the land would be more affordable than the amount of space rent some of these places charge.— January 4, 2020 8:09 a.m.
Mexican minimum wage raised to $6.50 a day
If you really think that a telemarketer that is calling to SCAM you is a "skilled worker" you're delusional. There are a lot of low/unskilled jobs. I worked fast food in high school, and it required low skills. How hard is it to put burgers and fries in a bag? I also worked retail, and was trained for 5-10 minutes how to operate the register. From then on I was on my own. Get real. If you want good money - earn it. We're paid what we're worth.— January 4, 2020 8:05 a.m.
The life and death of Oceanside mobile homes
I've never lived in a mobile home park, but I wouldn't buy a mobile home unless I could buy the land too. Paying $500-$1,000 a month (or more) space rent plus all the other expenses isn't affordable to those who need to live more affordably.— January 3, 2020 12:20 p.m.
Mexican minimum wage raised to $6.50 a day
If you have a low wage, no/low benefit job - you have no one to blame but yourself. Some of us believe in personal responsibility, and we don't expect handouts or employers to compensate no/low skilled workers with compensation and benefits they haven't earned. If you're unskilled, you don't deserve high wages and excellent benefits.— January 1, 2020 10:54 a.m.
SDSU profs rub shoulders with Mission Valley's homeless
I can't help but wonder if the "employed" along the river consider recycling, etc. "employment."— December 30, 2019 4:07 p.m.
Mom's ex-husband clips daughter in Vista
She's lucky he didn't hit and kill her. What a jerk.— December 23, 2019 11:28 a.m.
