Encinitas Sunset School gets reprieve
You're always complaining that employees aren't being paid a "living wage" or they're "overpaid." You can't have it both ways.— March 4, 2020 8:02 a.m.
Carlsbad Village Coins evicted from State Street
Ken... it's not a good business move. I don't know the details (except what I read in your article) but it's abundantly clear he's a greedy landlord. And most businesses can't afford to buy the land. It's not any different than renting a home. If the landlord wants you gone - you're gone. I hope she fights it "tooth and nail" but legally, does she have any ground to stand on?— February 26, 2020 7:56 a.m.
Carlsbad Village Coins evicted from State Street
I feel bad for this business, especially since they've been there since 1977. Unfortunately, if you rent the space, the landlord can evict you.— February 25, 2020 5:15 p.m.
Hangin with the kitties of The Cat Café
What a cool café!— February 22, 2020 1:14 p.m.
Coronavirus arrives in San Diego
Just say no to winter... the San Diego way!— February 21, 2020 12:37 p.m.
Where pollution is worst in San Diego
So air quality is racist too? If anything, lower socio-economic neighborhoods routinely get the shaft, and people of color are a higher percentage in these neighborhoods. If anything, this is more socio-economic than people of color. There are people in these neighborhoods that aren't minorities. NOT everything is a racial issue.— February 21, 2020 10:30 a.m.
Not wanted in Oceanside – more palm trees
I like palm trees. They're also one of the few (if not the only) tree that isn't a pain in the butt to maintain. When's the last time a neighbor complained that palm tree branches fell into their backyard pool? Palm trees are the norm in Southern CA. Get over it.— February 11, 2020 4:08 p.m.
Dinner With a View brings circus dining to San Diego
This look like a cool place to dine!— February 11, 2020 9:35 a.m.
Some Point Loma streets fixed, others ignored
I did read the policy. "However, in the majority of cases, the greatest deterrent to the assessment district approach has been low property valuations and the problems created for owners with low incomes in paying off assessment bonds." When I think of low property values and low income, I don't think of Point Loma residents. Were they even referring to Point Loma streets?— February 6, 2020 9:59 a.m.
Some Point Loma streets fixed, others ignored
We don't live in Point Loma, but the city should pay. How many of us have ever paid to have sidewalks put in or alleys paved. I certainly haven't, nor would I. That's what my TAXPAYER dollars are for. Current homeowners shouldn't be punished for decisions of previous homeowners 70 years ago - if that really is the reason.— February 5, 2020 8:19 a.m.
