Oceanside's cheapest housing is in the harbor
I can't speak for other readers, but Mr. Leighton hasn't greased me at all. I've been reading his articles for years. He's a straight shooter, and he tells it like it is. You're obviously too thin skinned to handle his writing style, so whether you choose to read his articles is a decision only you can make. Keep in mind you're not his mother, nor are you his editor. You are entitled to your opinion, and so am I.— April 29, 2020 11:14 a.m.
Oceanside's cheapest housing is in the harbor
With the cost of living in California, I'm not surprised this is going on. It's unfair to the people who are playing by the rules. Sleepovers, sneak overs and key fobs is a little too bizarre for me. It is a huge safety and environmental issue, and if it gets out of hand will they shut down residential living on the water?— April 29, 2020 9:52 a.m.
Encinitas and San Diego grapple with styrofoam
My husband and I are happy people, and the people that we tip have earned their tip. We get good service, and I hope you're getting good service as well. You deserve it...— April 28, 2020 12:41 p.m.
Encinitas and San Diego grapple with styrofoam
With the pandemic, the last thing people should be worried about is plastic. How about keeping healthy food available, and be thankful to those who are willing to support local businesses - including those of us who love to cook and bake. Be concerned that businesses stay open, and employees are able to keep their jobs. Tip them generously....— April 28, 2020 9:02 a.m.
Bolt Brewery rebirth
One bourbon, one scotch and one beer!— April 24, 2020 12:44 p.m.
Sara Jacobs self-funds House campaign to the tune of $2.74 million
The marriage of money and politics goes back to colonial times. George Washington, 1759 and rum punch. Oh, happy day.— April 23, 2020 9:43 a.m.
Corona touches ex-gang members
I hope these kids make it. "To be able to serve my community and these kids is my pay back." Your heart is in the right place. I believe what these kids need more than anything is to know that others truly care about them. They need love and acceptance, and sadly too many of these kids come from dysfunctional homes. Stay strong and keep the faith.— April 22, 2020 10:51 a.m.
Encinitas surfers' protest reveals other fault lines
The pandemic is separating the selfish from the unselfish and the ignorant from the intelligent. Shelter in place is hard for all of us, but those of us who care about the well being of others and our own health will take shelter in place very seriously. This saddens me, and it's happening everywhere.— April 22, 2020 9:08 a.m.
When San Diego had the Spanish flu
As a native San Diegan, an interesting read. Scary times...— April 20, 2020 9:37 p.m.
Lorena Gonzalez law damages local workers
Wow. You're entitled to your opinion of Ms. Gonzalez. What I don't understand is your inquiry into another man's "intimate life." You might want to think about that one.— April 19, 2020 11:09 p.m.
