Lorena Gonzalez’s Twitter "F*ck” to Elon Musk
Ms. Gonzalez obviously isn't a recent graduate of "finishing school" and if you want to be taken seriously, perhaps a more polished approach. Anyone in the public eye would be better off not posting on social media. We all look ridiculous online, but most of us don't have a position where it matters.— May 13, 2020 3:05 p.m.
The powerful Oceanside firefighters and their pliable candidate
"Why did Michelle Gomez pay her husband but not the other campaign workers?" Well, she's flaky. Of course they don't want you speaking to the local press. The press exposes you, and they don't like that. You can't un-ring the bell. Thank goodness for the media keeping people on their toes...— May 13, 2020 10:48 a.m.
Off-roaders head to desert but watching for thieves
Stealing a nice bike that belongs to a paraplegic. How sad. I hope he gets his bike back. Keep the faith.— May 12, 2020 4:10 p.m.
Rednecks of East County, welcome back to Coronado
Coronado is beautiful, rednecks sadden me and I would travel tomorrow. I refuse to live in fear. Less than 1% of Californians (0.14% according to Stanford) have tested positive, with a 97% recovery rate. Lives are more important than money, but this has been overblown by MSM. The media is just doing their job, but I'm not buying in to the fear. You're not going to die every time you go to Vons anymore than you're going to die every time you walk out the front door and drive the freeways. The virus is real, but this is absurd.— May 12, 2020 10:32 a.m.
San Diego pandemic protests bring out everyone with an opinion
Swell, thank you. I'm gainfully employed, but on LOA (caretaking - elderly mom). My boss wants me back to work (at home) while others have lost their jobs where I work. My boss admits to being "professionally selfish" and then he tells me he "cares about me." My husband is gainfully employed, but driving me nuts at home (he's working from home) but we are happily married. Thank goodness for "square footage" and kids who are grown. I think we're okay on his income, but he could lose his job... like anyone who is employed. To answer your question... the disease or the damage to the economy? I don't know. I really don't know. Stay well and take care...— May 8, 2020 4:59 p.m.
San Diego pandemic protests bring out everyone with an opinion
Ised - I remember when San Diego County was more conservative, and I was in the city of San Diego.— May 8, 2020 12:54 p.m.
San Diego pandemic protests bring out everyone with an opinion
Personally, I think protesting is asinine. It doesn't do any good. If you want to hide under your bed because you're scared, that's your business. The rest of us are healthy and ready to get back to life. If you were still working for a living or raising kids you might be singing a different tune. You've lived your life. You were "shooting pool in the 50s" I think in Chicago, and I can do the math. If I was your age, I'd stay home too.— May 7, 2020 3:31 p.m.
San Diego pandemic protests bring out everyone with an opinion
I don't watch Fox News, and it came from a Democratic friend of mine (a journalist in San Francisco) who knows Newsom very well. Like any journalist, he has more access to information than I do. SF is Newsom's "home turf." According to Reform California (requesting a donation) 72% of Californians want California reopened. The only people I know who aren't in favor of reopening with necessary precautions and provisions are elderly. Their lives (and income) haven't changed, except socially. And they worry more. If they received a stimulus check, they're benefiting financially, especially if more stimulus checks come. It's time to quit overreacting and the mass hysteria has to stop. It's time to deal with reality.— May 7, 2020 3:25 p.m.
San Diego pandemic protests bring out everyone with an opinion
They're protesting in San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego and Huntington Beach. San Francisco is as liberal as liberal can get. Maybe the entire city became Republicans because they want to go back to WORK. Or they decided that Republicans really do love their country more, and liberals have ruined a once beautiful state like California. Hmm....— May 7, 2020 1:19 p.m.
San Diego pandemic protests bring out everyone with an opinion
It's not just Republicans who want to reopen the state. Most Californians are in favor of reopening California. 84% of Californians want California reopened. Liberals, moderates (me) and conservatives. Most Americans are moderate or conservative (80%) but California is a liberal state. Democrats and Republicans are reopening their businesses throughout the state, and ignoring Newsom's orders. They're well aware that Newsom has a longstanding history of overstepping his power. You're retired. Are you willing to give up your pension and social security so those who've lost their jobs can pay their bills? Are you willing to teach children from your home because not all parents can afford a home computer, which means they're at home and not being taught through Zoom? Are you supporting local businesses (daily)? It's really easy for those who are retired to sit back in their ivory retired tower while the rest of us still have a life, and our lives have drastically changed. It's time for the elderly and sick to stay home, while the rest of us get back to LIVING. Less than 1% of California residents have tested positive or died from Covid-19. We've been on lockdown long enough. Yes, we've flattened the curve, but even MDs are speaking out that it's time to reopen and letting people live their lives. Before their lives are totally destroyed because they have NO INCOME. Enough is enough. End of sermon.— May 7, 2020 9:16 a.m.
