Dark night for La Mesa
I don't understand either. Maybe they don't know any better. How sad.— June 2, 2020 7:41 p.m.
“They're looting the Vons, and I’m standing right there" - La Mesa neighbors react
They aren't motivated to be there for the right reasons. It's greed and theft. How about fighting for the rights of good, hard working law abiding citizens. George Floyd was not a "gentle giant." He was a violent convicted felon. He committed home invasion where he held a gun to a woman's stomach. He demanded drugs and cash. He was with three other thugs. He served his time, but if you don't know a horse, look at its track record. He was drunk and trying to pass a counterfeit $20 bill. 911 was called, so he was obviously very intimidating to the clerk. Why was he driving drunk? He could've killed someone. When are people going to have the guts to tell it like it is?— June 2, 2020 8:28 a.m.
After a weekend of unrest, lunch at El Chingon
This looks good. I'm tired of the looting and rioting. Round them up and throw them all in jail. Enough is enough. There is no excuse for police brutality, but it's easily solved. Quit committing crimes and if you are stupid enough to commit a felony, quit resisting arrest. Problem solved. And the enablers will never get it. Newsom said "we're to blame." As a former moderate Democrat, I see through his bull. He's just looking for the minority vote.— June 1, 2020 7:46 p.m.
12-story buildings sprinkled around San Diego
Well... I can't say I'd appreciate a 12-story building in my neighborhood. But if you're a resident of the building, and your family and friends have no sense of direction, they might find the place. Eventually.— June 1, 2020 11:55 a.m.
UCSD admissions not entirely clean
The legacy of UCLA! And good for your son...— May 28, 2020 8:22 a.m.
Will a $46,000 federally funded COVID-19 drone fly in El Cajon?
I'm opposed to any type of abuse. I'm also strongly in favor of cooperating with the police. Sadly, too many people don't understand how important it is. Or they don't care.— May 28, 2020 8:20 a.m.
UCSD admissions not entirely clean
I don't think "buying your way into college" makes a kid happy. It makes the well-educated parent happy, and it's to the detriment of your child. Not all kids should go to college. But you should have something lined up. College, trade school or military, etc.— May 27, 2020 1:55 p.m.
UCSD admissions not entirely clean
When I attended UCLA, UCLA and UC Berkeley were upper UC schools. And they were both hard to get into. UC Berkeley the hardest, and UCLA number two. Stanford was number one, and still is. Recently (2017 or 2018) UCLA was ranked number one (UC system) and UC Berkeley number two. I'm younger than you. In this day and age, the UC system is still the "cream of the crop" academically. I had no idea that UCLA "wasn't that hard to get into" years ago. Wow. There was NO special consideration for cheerleaders. We had the same stringent academic requirements that other students had. We did have "practice" like the athletes.— May 27, 2020 12:12 p.m.
Will a $46,000 federally funded COVID-19 drone fly in El Cajon?
You're a SJW, and you're entitled to your opinion. And I'm entitled to mine. We clear?— May 27, 2020 11:58 a.m.
How San Diego school kids will ride buses
This is sad. They're kids, not 85 year old with underlying health conditions. Let kids be kids, and it's time to return to normal. Less than 1% of Californians - the same chances you have of winning a mega jackpot lottery. Most Americans don't buy lottery tickets.— May 26, 2020 3:10 p.m.
