Pro-China station broadcasting from Rosarito
Scott Kaplan shouldn't be allowed on the airwaves -- period. He's an equal opportunity offender. Kyle Kraska comes to mind. Sadly, there's enough classless men that will listen to him, regardless of his track record.— June 26, 2020 9:16 a.m.
Pro-China station broadcasting from Rosarito
Women might listen to Scott Kaplan or Howard Stern, but ladies don't. Neither one of them has ever hid the fact that their show is "locker room talk." I'm a huge sports fan, but sports talk radio is geared towards men. Not all men are fans of locker room talk, and not all sports talk radio hosts are like Kaplan.— June 25, 2020 8:07 p.m.
Chula Vista Brewery gets wrapped up in this American moment
Yeah, yeah -- everybody is a victim. Victim mentality will get you nowhere.— June 25, 2020 4:50 p.m.
San Diego's best roadside attractions
June 6, 1963... Presidential motorcade on El Cajon Blvd. My dad worked on El Cajon Blvd. and I'm told I was there. I was a baby, maybe a toddler. I wish I was old enough to remember.— June 25, 2020 2:01 p.m.
Will lower fines encourage fare skipping on buses and trolley?
I don't think it's fair to assume that poor people are not paying. It's dishonest people who aren't paying, and you can be dishonest at any socioeconomic status. Sure... low income people are a higher percentage of people on public transportation. Maybe they don't own a car. The people who don't pay don't want to pay, and it's not necessarily because they didn't have $2.50 in their pocket. It's not uncommon for poor people with values to be more honest than the rest of society.— June 23, 2020 4:13 p.m.
Will lower fines encourage fare skipping on buses and trolley?
With all due respect to the poor, they probably won't pay the fine, regardless of cost. They can't afford it, and it's not a priority. Whether they knew ahead of time when to pay or not, sending $25-$75 to the courthouse when they're struggling to pay rent and put food on the table is not a reality. And yes -- I believe people of any socioeconomic status that take public transportation regularly know "when to pay." They ride for free because they can.— June 23, 2020 12:58 p.m.
An assault near The Jungle in San Marcos
I hope she's okay. Life in prison without parole.— June 22, 2020 11:21 a.m.
Del Mar Fair asks Orange County Fair for bail-out
Save the Del Mar fairgrounds! The pandemic and lost revenue from horse racing aside, the financial instability of this agency has been going on for years. I wouldn't trust them to run a ten cent lemonade stand.— June 18, 2020 9:17 a.m.
California nurses board spends $53,000 to prosecute Kathleen Holt
She's unethical, and she should've had her licensed revoked a long time ago.— June 18, 2020 9:11 a.m.
Was Little Italy’s al fresco dining experiment too popular for its own good?
As far as the masks... to quote a recent article I read. "The pandemic isn't over, but Americans are over it." Most of us anyway.— June 15, 2020 6:19 p.m.
