Recall pending, Faulconer pivots hard against Newsom
Anyone is better than Newsom, and I felt that way when I was a Democrat. He's been a disaster politician since he was mayor of SF. All he cares about is his own ego. Pandemic hero? We have the strictest lockdown of all the states, and the highest per capita number of covid-19 cases. Combined with what Newsom has done to the economy, he's a failure once again.— January 2, 2021 7:29 a.m.
CDC pleads with San Diegans not to take advantage of incredible deals on covid-19 vaccine - with no waiting!
There probably are incredible deals on coronavirus vaccines in TJ, but I think I'll pass.— December 26, 2020 12:15 p.m.
ICE’s private prison in Calexico draws auditor’s ire
I'm not too concerned about ICE detainees. If they're that worried about it, don't become an inmate. There are consequences.— December 26, 2020 12:12 p.m.
Finest City Improv and the unbending landlord
I feel bad for the tenants being evicted. Loss of income, and still having to pay rent. The landlords have the right to be paid, but good luck renting to someone else during the pandemic.— December 14, 2020 7:18 p.m.
Has Del Mar's Dwight Worden flipped from green to gray?
Re-zoning valuable property overlooking the Pacific for low-income property is absurd. There shouldn't be a law forcing affluent suburbs to house low-income apartments. With the exception of better schools, I would think low income people would feel more comfortable in low income neighborhoods near dollar stores, check cashing stores, etc. Everything is more expensive in an affluent neighborhood. With all due respect, Del Mar is for the rich folks.— December 7, 2020 12:24 p.m.
91 of 153 Del Mar fairgrounds employees laid off – some of them are talking
More proof that everything going on at Del Mar Fairgrounds is dysfunctional. The drive-in concerts sound cool, and I hope they're running smoothly.— November 30, 2020 1:39 p.m.
SDG&E line man fired for white power sign
This is absurd. For SDG&E to fire a man who is "mostly Mexican decent" for white supremacy doesn't make any sense. His name is Emmanuel, not Bob or Joe. I hope he finds a job soon.— November 25, 2020 12:43 p.m.
Aussie surfboard maker J.S. Industries runs into Oceanside buzzsaw
As long as they are employing locals from Oceanside, making money during a pandemic and none of the boards come from China -- more power to them. Business is all about competition.— November 18, 2020 12:40 p.m.
Family of man killed by Amtrak train at trolley stop files claim
With all due respect, how can you not see and hear the train coming. Even without the bars to keep you from crossing a train track, you know when a train is coming. If he illegally crossed and darted out from behind a wall, he shouldn't get any money. It is stupid to let passengers off the trolley when a fast moving train is due, but nobody forced him to cross illegally.— November 15, 2020 1:26 p.m.
Anybody in San Diego remember Kicks magazine?
Cool story. I've never read Kicks magazine, but I hope to one day. I used to read BAM in the Bay Area, and it was enjoyable.— November 12, 2020 10:46 a.m.
