Sense of mistrust at Southwestern Community College
It's a well known fact that the current board of directors at SWC are there for one reason: to give the teachers union everything it asks for. This current board is crooked and corrupt (putting campaign donors on oversight committees etc). Of course they will be quick to toss the brand new superintendent under the bus in order to keep the facade alive. In fact, don't be surprised if this episode is fomented by the union not being happy with Nish. And the author of this article (a union mouthpiece) trying to hurry things along in Nish's departure.— February 9, 2016 11:29 p.m.
Tarnished trustee departure begets costly politics
Katie, no one will expose the conflicts of interests of the teachers union bosses guarding the henhouse. It's not PC.— February 2, 2016 11:14 p.m.
Hoteliers, brace for your backlash
It's always a laugh when the ambulance chasing "public interest" lawyers that make a very good living as blood-sucking parasites on the already over taxed taxpayers complain about others doing the same. Such scum.— February 1, 2016 9:36 a.m.
...and then a politician listened to people in need
I don't understand why Toni Atkins feels she's entitled to Senator Block's senate seat. He's doing a fine job.— January 26, 2016 12:57 p.m.
Homeless and confused in Chula Vista
It's getting bad in some parts of south Chula Vista. People from Arizona and Nevada and other runaways parking their RV on the city streets and making it a homestead. Crime and pollution have gone way up in those neighborhoods.— January 21, 2016 2:48 p.m.
Our son's autism test score was down to 15
Gluten-free cures autism and other quackery.— January 13, 2016 4:35 p.m.
Brace for culture change, Chula Vista
This mayor and council are not bright enough to understand complex urban planning issues. I once had a conversation with Mayor Salas about the need to preserve green space around Otay Lakes before it is too late. She looked at me like I insulted her mother and said "No, it will all be housing." Wouldn't even entertain another opinion.— January 5, 2016 10:07 a.m.
Trash man cometh not
Wow Jerey, lots of unsubstantiated falsehoods and innuendo there. Why don't you blame Mary Salas, she's the one that put him on the council. Besides, Steve Miesen is and has been considered a highly ethical pillar of the community for decades.— December 30, 2015 12:07 p.m.
Trash man cometh not
The City professional civil service staff handle these contract issues. A guy who is going to keep a city council seat warm for one year only, and will be recused from any discussions or votes on said issue, is not a problem. So don't try to invent one.— December 30, 2015 8:59 a.m.
Chula Vista condo plan misses mark again
So let old Chula Vista continue to devolve into rundown shanties and homeless camps, or breath some new life and vitality into it? You get to pick one.— December 20, 2015 9:21 p.m.
