"...The City of Encinitas is evaluating the need, cost effectiveness and long term sustainability of a locally operated shuttle service system...." It has posted an online Transit Survey at: http://www.encinitasenvironment.org/
"...Beginning September 23, 2013, Encinitas residents are encouraged to take an online Transit Survey, in which they can share their opinions on current transit systems and their visions for a future transit model.
The ten-question survey will take only a few minutes to complete, but the information gleaned will be invaluable, says Planning Intern Keelie Rocker. She states, “The City would like to get as much feedback as possible, so we hope that many Encinitans will take the time to help us plan the system of tomorrow...”
There are also copies of the survey in the library (Cardiff and Encinitas)
This is an important and urgent quality of life issue for all residents of Encinitas.

Holler for Paul Eckes Central Elementary School in Encinitas and the San Diego Symphony Orchestra! Recently, the 3rd and 4th grade students at Paul Eckes Central Elementary School attended a concert provided by the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. The concert, "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra", was composed by Benjamin Britten and is a celebration of the composer's 100th birthday year. For most, if not all, the students this may be their first symphony concert and will serve to introduce them to the four families of instruments that make up an orchestra: Woodwinds, Brass, Strings and Percussion— October 19, 2013 4:12 p.m.

A **Great BIG Holler** to the staff, volunteers, patrons of Rancho Coastal Humane Society on the near completion of the restoration of their formerly miniscule thrift shop. It is nearly complete and has been transformed into a comfortably ample shop. During this process, however they were all subjected to store closures and a noise-filled environment in which they could hardly hear themselves speak or think - hardly a "humane" environment to work or shop in. Bravo to you all!— August 30, 2013 2:28 p.m.
