Filner did all the right things the wrong way
Remember they claim he doesn't know when to give up, that's the central complaint. Why people would think he would resign without a fight, amazes me. He will fight.— July 28, 2013 4:47 p.m.
Filner did all the right things the wrong way
We should remember that Filner can't be embarrassed into desisting, that's part of his problem, but also one of his strengths. I haven't heard anything that suggests he will resign soon, or ever. I believe he would resign for the good of the City, but nothing this chorus of hypocrites sings suggests that any respect will be paid to the wishes of those who elected him. They want a do over on the last election. He should stay on for the good of the City.— July 28, 2013 3:29 p.m.
Filner did all the right things the wrong way
Why everyone is so sure he will resign amazes me. I'm certain immediate resignation is a bad idea for the City. If an angel would replace him, certainly he should resign, but the possible replacements, and likely acting mayor, advocate a depraved public policy. Why should the City be raped? I urge The Mayor to settle with all plaintiffs, take his deserved punishment, but keep fighting.— July 28, 2013 12:14 p.m.
Mayor to take off two weeks for therapy
He should work from home, and let his staff do the public stuff, but hold on to the City checkbook.— July 26, 2013 5:22 p.m.
Laura Fink's campaign role with Todd Gloria
If someone can cite a conviction for a crime with description similar to these accusations let us know. Bonnie Dumanis is likely searching and you could save the taxpayer money.— July 26, 2013 1:44 p.m.
Mayor to take off two weeks for therapy
No one has the courage to attack his policies, they are very popular. I hope this penance is done in consultation with McCormack Jackson and her attorneys. Settling her case quickly, as her attorney suggested is possible, is the best idea for plaintiff and defendant, any trial would be a farce broadcast live around the world. Filner should resign public duties, but keep his veto pen until a new mayor can be elected.— July 26, 2013 1:39 p.m.
Laura Fink's campaign role with Todd Gloria
From the start, no one denied misdeeds, from the start, no one has described a crime. The dispute is whether his punishment should include turning the City over to the schemers intent from the start on destroying him, long before these accusations surfaced.— July 26, 2013 12:14 p.m.
Laura Fink's campaign role with Todd Gloria
The scandal reveals a real flaw in the strong mayor scheme. Should he resign, the office will be turned over to the Council President, Todd Gloria, not elected by voters, and perhaps the most underhanded schemer we have ever seen in this city. He ran as a Democrat, then immediately turned developer stooge when in office. If Filner must resign, he should do so only after a vote to send the CCDC money into the general fund, and votes to set important issues aside until an elected mayor is in place.— July 26, 2013 10:24 a.m.
Laura Fink's campaign role with Todd Gloria
Murphyjunk, this is the silliest comment yet. Our military sexual scandal shocks the nation. Real crimes go unpunished. Servicemen trade pornographic pictures of rape and murder. A nation's horrific acts don't excuse the Mayor, but they do reveal hypocrisy.— July 26, 2013 9:35 a.m.
Filner may be the winner in last two accusations
Bob Filner should be punished as the facts dictate, but CCDC money should go into the general fund, because that's the policy we voted for. I don't think Filner should let anyone steal my vote or the City's money. Anyone who doesn't know there is a conspiracy to replace the Mayor is Foxed up. I suppose everyone came forward at once by accident. There's no one that believes the Mayor is innocent, no one thinks he shouldn't be punished, but some of us can see the crooked scheme to grab power and control a cool billion. It's not subtle.— July 26, 2013 1:19 a.m.
