Was Filner's office bugged by long distance microphone?
I suspect the locks were changed to keep documents from being pilfered, as Burdick suggests.— August 10, 2013 7:29 p.m.
Was Filner's office bugged by long distance microphone?
There seems to be enough focus on Filner. I urge everyone to examine Sunroad, if as you suggest, there is quid pro quo with Filner, who took nothing for himself, certainly the cash funneled into Sander's and other campaigns must be suspect. Why Sanders started the practice of giving police paid holiday trips with the Mayor puzzles me, but I'm not puzzled why they started complaining only when Filner did it. They hate Filner.— August 10, 2013 1:36 p.m.
Was Filner's office bugged by long distance microphone?
The fight now is bigger than the issues facing this City, huge as they are. Now we must re-establish the principle that law enforcement investigation must not be personal attack. We must turn our focus to the many obvious abuses of power. Those of us who voted for Filner have civil rights. Law enforcement has plainly intervened in the proposed recall, and have harmed Filner and supporters under color of authority, without alleging any crime. This must be stopped.— August 10, 2013 11:45 a.m.
Was Filner's office bugged by long distance microphone?
At least you confess your sadistic pleasure openly, and help us all to understand this fight. I'm glad you took this break from tormenting the helpless and join us here. We can defend ourselves, and you give us reason to fight. Some join the mob because they're greedy. others openly endorse inflicting suffering for amusement. Thanks for the information.— August 10, 2013 10:46 a.m.
Was Filner's office bugged by long distance microphone?
No one could blame Filner for quitting. But unless he just can't pull himself together to face this stuff, I see no advantage in resignation, especially if he's guilty of something. Because the Mayor's office is what these accusers want, and therefore is his best bargaining chip. Just because he very likely might lose this battle, doesn't mean he shouldn't fight. I believe law enforcement in this county has broken the law fighting Filner. The Sheriff's hotline shocks me. I can't recall a lawsuit ever treated this way. No one even pretends to be impartial. Goldsmith seems to be going cuckoo, attacking Filner from the co defendant position of the city, seeming to conspire with plaintiff. We must fight these people, they won't stop after destroying Filner. They'll use the same tactics again.— August 10, 2013 12:32 a.m.
Who's investigating Filner? It's who's NOT investigating him
Same old bunk that wasn't working before the sexless sex scandal. Certainly we want a thorough investigation of Sunroad though, and an examination of all their donations to City officials.— August 9, 2013 8:48 p.m.
Who's investigating Filner? It's who's NOT investigating him
The recall has been in the works for months, the coordinated resistance to Filner started on day one. I think the sex scandal is pure opportunism, but Bonnie Dumanis certainly worked to get law enforcement together before the scandal broke. The recall obviously is a punishment looking for a crime. Since they couldn't find crime, they get some women to call him a weirdo, after advertising on all channels for accusers, Do you think these women all came forward spontaneously, without active cooperation from media and law enforcement? There is pre planning, we can argue who, when, where, etc.. but it did happen.— August 9, 2013 8:24 p.m.
Who's investigating Filner? It's who's NOT investigating him
Behavior that offends is offensive behavior and must stop. Filner has confessed to this, no one defends that behavior. But the accused behavior is not crime, not even a good civil case, and not intended to harm. He is alleged to breach decorum only, in all cases but one. Basically he's accused of being a creepy weirdo, but that's subjective and not a crime. One woman's creepy weirdo is another's lover. If someone wants to remove the Mayor for political reasons, that's within ethical and legal boundaries, but the rape cry is an atrocity, against the Mayor, and against real rape victims. Those with strong arguments don't need to exaggerate. http://www.kpbs.org/audioclips/19143/#transcript— August 9, 2013 5:09 p.m.
Mayor Filner's lawyer wants sexual harassment case moved to Imperial County

Drummer found dead
Unless *Purple Church* is a complete flop, and has no fans, they have no right to privacy in this matter. My sympathy for your loss, and may those who care most learn first from their friends, but musicians owe their fans the full story at these times.— August 9, 2013 2:53 p.m.
