City will indemnify resigning Filner, with some hedges
You are an amateur on this blog like the rest of us. When you persistently attack the blogger you are a troll. That's what troll means. When you discuss facts you are an amateur journalist.— August 24, 2013 1:33 p.m.
City will indemnify resigning Filner, with some hedges
Filner trusted the wrong people. That's worse than a crime, it's a mistake. He put his arms around people he imagined were friendly to him. He hired people he thought would help him. He promoted people who rode the gravy train with him, he made them influential, he put them in charge of the City. I don't know why those people decided from their appointed positions to destroy the Mayor, I suspect each had their personal reasons, but it's easy to understand why the Mayor couldn't get up off the mat and defend himself. He wasn't paranoid, those he thought his friends had turned on him. When he turned to others for help, and followed their advice, that advice only made matters worse. I don't know who was at fault at first in this family dispute, but we know who burned down the house.— August 24, 2013 12:33 p.m.

DeMaio may change his mind, run for mayor
No time to waste, we need to get someone to run. Carl Demaio is good news I think, he will bleed votes from Fletcher as he did before. I might not talk up the sleaze for that reason. Marti Emerald might be a thought, or Lori Saldana. Help somebody, anybody but Todd Gloria, what a horrible man!!! Nobody seems to realize that healing they want involves placating those of us who saw our hero destroyed without a single word spoken under oath.— August 23, 2013 5:10 p.m.
DeMaio's men's room masturbation went unreported (updated 8/26)
No need for calluses, that's what extra virgin olive oil is for. Imagine my shock and disgust when I heard people put it on their food.— August 23, 2013 1:25 p.m.
Motion to quash case against Bob Filner scheduled for September 16
If the City is contesting the facts in the Mccormack suit, why do they still ask for resignation? Because they don't like him?— August 23, 2013 11:33 a.m.
DeMaio's men's room masturbation went unreported (updated 8/26)
This DeMaio case is stronger than all the Filner cases put together. First off it's a crime that doesn't depend on consent, not a civil case that does. Secondly the witnessed event was reported immediately. Third there is a timely document. This is a crime, but morally I think his hypocrisy is worse, he didn't think up his hot blooded urges, and they're basically self destructive. But in full knowledge of his own compulsions, in a cold hearted scheme of personal gain, he condemns a man as a pervert who has never been reported improperly unzipped. He's a demented monster in public life, unfortunately, that's not a crime. But....If we don't want to be hypocrites also, we should cut him some slack. Nobody was hurt, and he gave us a good laugh. But Mr'. DeMaio, take warning, if you do this where someone under eighteen might walk in on you, you will be frog hopping in orange.— August 23, 2013 11:21 a.m.

Michael Aguirre proves the old saying, "Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean everyone isn't out to get me.". He works on the assumption that every City deal is crooked, and is right most of the time, but is a flawed lawyer, because the law isn't about crooked and straight, but about what can be proven illegal. And is a flawed politician, because he so often confronts when he must persuade. But he's a good guy, just happens to be wrong this time. Another lost sheep to be brought back to the fold. They will come back in a flock, just as they left.— August 23, 2013 9:51 a.m.
