Credit card did not work at Encinitas Target, so....
How could someone like that even get a credit card?— November 20, 2019 9:54 a.m.
The home style Ukrainian of Village House Kalina
Don't get your panties in a bunch. I figure about 25 people in all of the county read these reviews and they probably mean zero new business for the restaurants. The Reader is buying content from amateurs not professionals.— November 20, 2019 9:50 a.m.
Jeremy Blakespear too soft for San Diego's Bicycle Coalition
Why does a population of around 1% get to wag the dog and demand they have the right to eliminate hundreds (thousands, the hundreds are just North Park) of parking spaces, convert two-lane roadways to one-lane, demand barriers and painted features and everything else necessary for their biking? They don't pay fuel taxes, or vehicle registration (yet they too drive vehicles... a bike), on a dedicated segment of roadway. They are like economic refugees... they want to use, enjoy and customize the existing infrastructure to their demands while they contributed little to build it.— November 12, 2019 6:22 p.m.
Journalism: Going, Going, Gonzalez
Fletcher's judgment should be questioned on the fact he sleeps with that pig.— November 3, 2019 7:09 a.m.
Horton Homeless Haven?
Rumors a while back was that it was being redeveloped into a Costco gas station. La Mesa is always building something, not much vacancy in that city.— November 3, 2019 7:07 a.m.
Is California sex-ed anti-immigrant?
It's the four R's now. Reading, writing, arithmetic and rubbers.— November 2, 2019 1 p.m.
Coronado’s Spreckels Mansion: a national controversy for Rebecca Zahau and Max Shacknai
Gore is a disgrace. But the people keep voting that useless introvert and unqualified political actor into office. If he's not up for the job, why do the people keep voting him back into the seat?— October 13, 2019 11:57 p.m.
Lhooq Books shocked by lease loss
It's a shame for those who appreciated their charm and rare finds. The gentrification of the coast cities will continue. San Diego has been discovered and beach cities will become like Venice, Manhattan Beach and Laguna Beach. The heirs to these real estate inheritances don't care about community or local ties. They just sell it off and add to their portfolio. It's happening everywhere and more rapidly than in the past. The tech crowd has discovered cheap San Diego and they are already setting up their base camps here. Google, Amazon, Apple, Walmart, Facebook, and so many other tech firms that have landed and taken the best properties to make into their own vision of progress. Once they become more dominant, expect more gentrification. The coast will become outlandishly expensive and push the cost of living up countywide. We will become San Francisco and Seattle. With the have's and have not's. More high priced housing, more high priced food and horrible traffic jams. And more homelessness as the low cost inventory of homes get gobbled up by AirBNB a$$holes, corporate home renters and virtually no SRO's exist. I hope the San Diego politicians understand that this route will lead to what San Francisco has become. A shithole no one cares to visit anymore. San Diego will become a place that families will no longer want to visit or perhaps even come to a conventions when there are drug addicted zombies everywhere and it smells like shit and urine on every block.— October 13, 2019 12:37 a.m.
