Volume Two
Fave fem vox? The Be Good Tanyas, of course! Try their cover of Neil Young's "For the Turnstiles" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCyk5JWM3B0) or Jolie Holland's rendition of "Mad Tom of Bedlam" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZXJuk5zNZ8). And observe my heart a'meltin.— April 20, 2010 8:19 p.m.
Malaikat Dan Singa
These guys crashed my couch a few months a ago after a Bar Pink show. Front man Arrington (of Old Time Relijun fame) said he learned Indonesian and wrote these songs to impress a girl. It apparently worked - she was one stage singing with him!— April 12, 2010 2:53 p.m.
Vigilante Minutemen patrol border near Campo
l2009 - Not sure which story you were reading, but I can't find any stats in here which could be deemed anti-immigration. If not neutral, the stats actually serve to debunk common anti-immigration myths. "However, challenging the oft-cited argument that undocumented laborers lower the working wage for everybody in a given industry, the 2006 report finds that illegal immigrants “have little effect on the wages and employment of U.S.-born workers. Such effects are felt most by low-skilled U.S. workers,” to the tune of about a 4 percent decrease in lifelong earnings for men without a high school diploma." John Tanton was part of the National Policy Institute. Zero connection with Public Policy Institute of California. diegonomics - It should be obvious from the text that Stockwell perceived the man on the motorbike to be a Minuteman. "For ten bucks an hour, Americans will do farmwork. He wants to pay alot less." Wild! You interviewed Scaroni, too? :-) "The articles most desultory element of all, in my opinion, is quoting one man as being supposedly the top Minuteman in some vague romantic fashion, and then closing out by having the man with the eye patch agree to accept worker permits." Read again. Stockwell's perception. How does Craig's endorsement of a functional imported workers program make the story "desultory"? Being one of such profound contradictions yourself, you should have no problem grasping Craig's willingness to embrace a solution, even if it does challenge your perception of the Minutemen as little more than a group that "created a bunch of political drama and furor." You said it best: "You have to give Kingfisher [sic] credit, because at least hes willing to compromise." Hope that patches up a few of the "holes" you found and thank you for the kudos. Good input, Ponzi. Please revisit the text and you will find that virtually every point you bring up has been addressed. SDaniels - ever the voice of reason. :-)— March 30, 2010 1:40 p.m.

Adam - as if one could predict the whereabouts of a Kiki at any given moment, but I think you would have better luck finding your neo-nihilist lover at a small gathering on the roof of an abandoned Logan Heights warehouse or maybe on the outskirts of Jacumba at a near-cult summer rave. Just maybe.— March 13, 2010 7:47 p.m.
Burning of Bridges
Yep. The story was not a rewrite. Snark off.— March 12, 2010 4 p.m.

Hey gang, In response to your questions - with the blessings of the boys up stairs, I hope to continue writing Crasher monthly. I think I can do the bit justice for all you vicarious ragers. While flattered at the suggestion, I must admit I am not Pike, though we still get out on a bike ride every once in a while. He's a def brotha from anotha mutha. Fred, I sense the party was more about an excuse to show off some thigh meat than any sort of calculated racial assault. SD, I'm intrigued by the idea of white-trash as the "safe zone." Keen observation. I'm also writing the bi-weekly "Here's the Deal" and some Blurts. Keep an eye out for my cover story in a few weeks about border policy and the Campo Minutemen. Shameless self promo.— March 11, 2010 3:22 p.m.
Now You Know: Paper Forest
I should mention, by the by, that these cats exhibit a hint of Jamuel Saxon in their repertoire. Tongue-in-cheek electro for your face.— March 4, 2010 1:38 a.m.
Now You Know: Paper Forest
Keen eye, Jay. His mother named him Glendon, so I suppose the single 'n' would be most correct.— March 4, 2010 1:29 a.m.
