On the Benefits of Recreational Summertime Walking through Death Valley
We are but one group of people. We are all human beings. To classify humans into groups is the equivalent of bigotry. My friends would be astonished to know that they and their adopted son are in fact, based on your estimation, Unnaturals!!— August 9, 2010 1:07 p.m.
Powis Castle
What a great account of your experience and some of the history of horse racing! I really enjoyed this. It read like a cover story. Very well done - I learned quite a bit.— August 8, 2010 12:19 p.m.

San Diego example of Freddie Mac's work
Add to that the banks are now recovering vast sums of money by foreclosing and reselling these properties. It might be expensive for them to go through the foreclosure process, but they still come out way ahead.— August 8, 2010 11:49 a.m.
Pesky Piercings and Other family Issues
I remember when I was around ten getting your ears pierced was kind of a big deal. We had to wait until we were thirteen before our mother would let us get them done. She would have dropped dead if we came home with our tongues pierced. Great story - thanks for sharing!!— August 8, 2010 9:49 a.m.
Dialing For Dollars
When calling about your cable or phone service, you are sure to get stuck in the "phone bank" where the pre-recorded voice asks you what you are calling about. They usually go through a list of things that don't apply to what you are calling for, so your frustration mounts. I found that when you reply "cancel service" you are put right through to someone.— August 6, 2010 1:21 p.m.
The emptiness of 2010 SDSU grads
Been to Del Mar recently? ;)— August 6, 2010 1:09 p.m.
San Diego example of Freddie Mac's work
I agree not to judge consumers so harshly. Remember, many were "guided" on how to fill out their loan apps by their mortgage brokers, who told them "trust me". If you have ever purchased a home in the last ten years, the amount of paperwork is stupifying. Most would sign anything put in front of them after the first hundred pages or so. I'm not saying it's right, it just is.— August 6, 2010 1:07 p.m.
