My Farewell Speech
Skip, like RFG I keep a few sites open on my laptop and check them for updates and new stories. Sometimes I will just glance at something and get back to it later, but your story caught my eye and I read it through. When I see something that is really good, I will comment on it in the hopes that others will read it as well, because this was too good to miss.— August 11, 2010 7:20 a.m.

Super Kick-Ass Flight Attendant
Oh, to have been on that flight and seen Steven swooping down that chute to freedom, beer in hand, a big f-you to the indignities of public service!! I with you, RFG. Apparently he checked for people before engaging the release of the chute, which is required. So if they press charges against him, he will at least have that in his favor.— August 10, 2010 5:37 p.m.
Super Kick-Ass Flight Attendant

Russian boars let loose on Capitan Grande Indian Reservation
There are some who see animals as capable of experiencing something akin to emotion. Animals give birth, fiercely protect their young, and give unconditional love. This is a very nice poem that I happen to love, and that I think describes best how those that feel about this, feel strongly. Saint Francis and the Sow by Galway Kinnell "The bud stands for all things, even for those things that don't flower, or everything flowers, from within, of self-blessing; though sometimes it is necessary to reteach a thing its loveliness, to put a hand on its brow of the flower and retell it in words and in touch it is lovely until it flowers again from within, of self-blessing; as Saint Francis put his hand on the creased forehead of the sow, and told her in words and in touch blessings of earth on the sow, and the sow began remembering all down her thick length, from the earthen snout all the way through the fodder and slops to the spiritual curl of the tail, from the hard spininess spiked out from the spine down through the great broken heart to the blue milken dreaminess spurting and shuddering from the fourteen teats into the fourteen mouths sucking and blowing beneath them: the long, perfect loveliness of sow."— August 9, 2010 6:20 p.m.

I Like Words
Grace I searched and then I found the place But then I had to run the race Sent fractured self out into space So hopeful! Perchance leave a trace? Of something that comes close to grace— August 9, 2010 1:26 p.m.
