Packing Heat (and Granola)
Nice job, Fred! Congratulations to you.— November 12, 2010 12:47 p.m.
Book Nerd Nirvana
Donald, congratulations!! I loved the library when I was little, too. My mom could actually drop me off there and come pick me up a couple hours later without a worry in the world.— November 12, 2010 12:38 p.m.
Redefining My Birthday
Congratulations, Beany!! I hope you had a terrific b-day, whatever you decided to do. And I hear you about that bill-splitting thing. There are always those that "forget" about tax and tip.— November 12, 2010 12:35 p.m.
Fashion Police
Yikes! Every relationship is a dance, and who leads changes according to certain aspects. I am THRILLED when my husband tells me something I bought is a "toss". Many men could not give a rat's ass about their wive's lives. Refried, you of course are an excellent cook, and therefore your lack of fashion sense with regard to your wife's wardrobe is most likely a non-issue.— November 11, 2010 1:43 p.m.
So Long
I'll miss you, Duncan. I really hope you make a guest appearance for True Grit.— November 10, 2010 1:43 p.m.
Haiku - A - Day
If just a flower Why getting mine to flower Is like pulling teeth?— November 9, 2010 10:49 a.m.
No Photos!
I just found the answer to your dilemma!! I was reading the NY Times (there is only one "Times", I know, but, you know) and on page four of the Business section there is an article about wearable cameras. One in particular that I think would be perfect for you is called the "Looxcie" (pun intended, I am sure). Check it out.— November 7, 2010 2:13 p.m.
DeMaio Blind to One Thing: Greed
"but we have always had that problem in the hiring of gov employees-the best jobs go to those best connected". This is a big problem. I have an idea for those government clerical jobs that go to those that "know someone". We could follow corporate America's method and off-shore them to India. Salaries and future pensions saved!! But I suppose the unions would have a slight problem with that.— November 7, 2010 12:27 p.m.
during the dappled days
We ride our bikes up there too, going down the OB path to Old Town, up Juan Street, and all through the old neighborhoods, down through Presidio Park and back home. Good hills!!— November 6, 2010 1:17 p.m.
during the dappled days
I have one of his books and love his column. I have done that walk and love it. It is one of my favorites because it combines the canyon with the wonderful old homes over in Banker's Hill.— November 5, 2010 7:25 p.m.
