Update: Beautiful Jessie has come home! And: What we learned about lost/found animals
Ha, ha! I actually took a picture before you sent that! I'll post it later.— March 19, 2010 3:38 p.m.

My nieces rooms are ungodly messes! When they come to visit, I just shut the door. The sheer volume of clothing, shoes, hair products, and electronics creates a blanket on the floor so that you have to tip-toe to get from one end of the room to the other. And they always, without fail, leave at least three articles. When I was that age, I was a spaz about my things. A place for everything. Girls are particularly good at that type of manipulation. More powerful than brute force. I hate that toolbar thing. Annoysome, as Snooki would say.— March 19, 2010 3:35 p.m.

Yes, that was my thinking as well that most pet-owners are too distraught to even think about all the services and leads available to them, and most would be unaware of their existance. If you ladies want to start a pet detective service, I am all for it. I rescinded my notice (like a fool) and continued to work, thinking things would get better (the definition of insanity, anyone?) and instead quit in a blaze of "take this job and shove it" glory. I am free, free, free. Just went for a walk with a friend, and am now staring out the window, admiring the buff tree service guy trimming our palm. Drinks? Did you say drinks? When? We really must do this.— March 19, 2010 3:21 p.m.

Hipsters. It was 1980. I can even remember them, they were kind of an animal print, multi-colored number. In my house, it was easy to to stop talking to one sister, because there were two others to take her place. Raised the jealousy quotient as well.— March 19, 2010 9:44 a.m.

I wanna back-hoe and a steam-shovel!! Oh, man, could you imagine? I love that song. It always makes me laugh. Okay, with all the time I have, I'll look into these groups a little further. They probably also get a cut of any rewards as well. With all your knowledge, anti, you could start franchising your own company.— March 18, 2010 7:24 p.m.

Lyn sounds like a very caring person. Very interesting about the AmberAlert for pets. What a great idea!! Maybe I'll do some research about what it takes to open a local chapter. Could be our calling, anti......there are tons of lost pet flyers in my neighborhood. I actually wrote to the Beacon here about the situation and they published it. I had been beating my head against the wall about work. Besides my job being really high-stress, there were other issues as well. Well, you would have been proud of me. Because I have zero intentions of ever going back into this line of work, when I tried to speak to our manager-in-name-only-moron about my concerns, he became hostile. I slammed the file I had in my hand onto my desk, looked him in the eye and said "f*** this s***. I am out of here." Grabbed my photos and my nameplate, a couple of important documents, and that was that. As to what I am going to do now, your looking at it for the time being. Now, will someone tell me why Sandra Bullock would put up with Jesse Jame's antics? The woman just won the Oscar!! Wouldn't you know if your husband was sleeping with another woman for 11 months? And why do these guys cheat on women like SANDRA BULLOCK?— March 18, 2010 6:43 p.m.

Yeah, me too. I'm putting Nurse Jackie in my queue.— March 18, 2010 6:12 p.m.
Californication/True Blood/the Canada connection
True Blood is sexxxxy! Don't have Showtime, darn. There are too many good cable shows. I could order them on Netflix, but right now I am just starting season five of Weeds. Nurse Jackie is supposed to be really good. Have you watched it?— March 18, 2010 3:53 p.m.
Pinniped Predicament
"Drambuie encourages you to enjoy our good taste with your good judgment" - I love booze disclaimers!!! Doesn't drinking require you to go against your good judgment in order to do its job?— March 18, 2010 3:14 p.m.
Pinniped Predicament
Why, how mighty gracious of y'all. Is that a REAL recipe?!!? Oh, lordy, lordy, even if I ate critters I'm not sure I could get that one down!!— March 18, 2010 12:39 p.m.
