Gayle Skidmore -- Paper Box
The Girl who plucked a guitars heart, string by string until she taught it how to sing. 12 strings for each lonely year until she could hear love smeared from the strings into a cheer. Gearing up to hold the world in a word until it hurts, like her finger tips. As clear as the air her breath hesitates to murmer(sic?) that lonely tune of being held up by just 12 strings. Perhaps she does not need keys or anything else but those strings and a guitars heart to permiate the hollow air with everthing it's never heard, harmony with the earth.— October 6, 2010 7:56 p.m.
San Diego to House Homeless at World Trade Center
Just wait till they start trading! COol San Diego , way to go 8 to Zero. That is a great start for a much needed part of what used to be Americas' best city, but i hear they changed that too. It should save the tax payer in that it would reduce the amount of emergency services, as it is scheduled to have a clinic on premises. That will be the most needed for the homeless, easy acccess to Health care. On a personal note it is nice to know that the religious zealots that "run" the current shelters such as father Joes' Villages and The San Diego Mission will be out of the picture on this one. This will allow all including the non-religious types a new and different approach to the real needs of the homeless- like actual mental health professionals and educated addiction treatment personal. Seems that it will help to reduce the chronic homeless folks and get them the services they need, not just a bunch of money hungry religious organizations poluting the minds of the underclass in- to believivng in ghosts.— October 6, 2010 7:25 p.m.
Oregon Doctors Group Holds Rally at San Diego County Administration Building
That sounds like a cool grass roots movement. Glad to see that people still care about other people and not just money. It is sad to think the United States is still so backwards when it come to modern heath care.I use the Veterens Administation Health care, and althoght it takes longer to get things accomlished and one has to be painfully persistent to get things looked at, i can foresse this happening to government health also there are also the examples of foreign country, long waiting lines and corruption, But what else can we do, we have to find a way to get all people health care.— October 5, 2010 8:04 p.m.
