Tijuana doesn’t want another 2008

Visduh, I am aware that this damages Tijuana's reputation (even further). To be honest, since it happened, I've been looking over my shoulder more and more. But like the comment above by shirleyberan points out, this could happen anywhere. The chances of getting randomly stabbed in the streets of Tijuana are way lower than getting in a car accident. With that logic, then you should be more afraid of getting into a vehicle than simply crossing the border. We put ourselves on risk on a daily basis, David just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Despite all of this, Tijuana is the best city I have ever lived in, but if crime continues to be on the rise, I might have to leave it. If anyone is visiting Tijuana for the first time and wants to feel safer, there are plenty of people that offer tours of the city. Mexico might be lawless, crooked and unsanitary in general, but I know many wonderful people here that are changing that for the better. Let's just hope good triumphs over evil. Regards, Matthew

We have no way to catch them

It is safe, especially during the day and on Revolución Ave! The petty crimes happen to those who don't pay attention to their belongings or venture to the wrong parts of town (like Zona Norte which is not a family trip). These crimes are similar to those all over the USA if you leave your belongings unattended where there's a high population of homeless people. Happy to assist you with my tour company as Tijuana Adventure if you need to know where to have a perfect recreational day out.
