Reduce water…and continue building? Huh?
What's your solution?— April 2, 2015 4:37 p.m.
Reduce water…and continue building? Huh?
Don, you're placing a lot of the blame on development. Development follows population. How do you stop people from coming to live here? The only time the migration goes the other way is when jobs dry up, and that would be bad for everybody. I don't see a solution there. One Paseo is meeting demand with supply, it seems to me. I also happen to find a lot of merit in building high-density housing there of all places. Where I think we might agree is on building more hotels when there are already too many, developing Mission Valley which is a natural river valley (go away Chargers). What I don't want to see is toilet to tap, or desalinization plants. What's crazy is a downtown water park. What's crazy is water-intensive businesses and attractions and corporate and other commercial agriculture (they get cut rates on their water) in a desert. What we need to address is climate change. What the governor ought to do is force developers to install solar panels and clothes lines on their properties. What the feds ought to do is buy a Prius for everybody, cheaper than fighting wars for oil. These two things would also save the planet. My two cents.— April 2, 2015 4:10 p.m.
The youth love their guns

The youth love their guns
Well from what I saw, the police talked to the guys, and the sister went up one side and down the other of her little brother. So the answer is who knows whether they get it or not. But probably not if they're the sort who want these sort of guns in the first place, right? Boys and their toys.— March 3, 2015 9:59 p.m.
The youth love their guns
In reply to both Visduh and Alex Clarke, I happened to be at the AM/PM when this happened, and got to see those guns up close. They were menacing looking, even when the police were carrying them away. Large, black, articulated to look like a military weapon, with scope sights and whatever you call those legs that you set down, also had skulls painted on the handles. The inside tip had a maybe 1/2" red plastic insert, so small you couldn't see it unless you were right up close. Apparently the guys were messing around pointing the guns at each other in the car and someone saw them and freaked out. That cop told the girl, "This is how people get killed." I could not agree more. Don't really get why anyone would need a BB gun that looks like that in the first place.— March 3, 2015 10:40 a.m.

Banker's Hill Olive Park to be deleted
The City does whatever it wants with dedicated parkland despite any laws that say the public must vote for any changes. Just look at what happened with the Barrio Logan library. They planted that library on dedicated parkland, and took more dedicated parkland for parking without a vote by the public. It was a deal between Inzunza and Bersin, as if they owned the land and could do whatever they wanted with it. They buttered it through by claiming a greater good for the community. So? Good or bad, the law is the law. But the city doesn't obey its own laws, neither do any of its officials, PMSL.— February 12, 2015 4:28 p.m.
Not just a bump in the road
I couldn't tell you anything about video games since I never play them, ever. And as for feeling empathy for the disabled, or not understanding what they are up against, don't even go there. You know nothing about the people whose comments you read on the forums you visit.— January 31, 2015 3:31 a.m.
Dog towns
I said responsible dog owner. As in, pets are your children. If you can't provide for your pets, then don't have one. Simple.— January 31, 2015 3:27 a.m.
