City attorney Goldsmith boasted how he worked on Filner ouster for 8 months
I think this is the Perfect Storm conspiracy that we keep trying to get people to understand. Those involved had different parts to play, some were working to create it, some were waiting for their moment, some were puppets, some stepped up when they saw the opportunity, some just seized the scandal and ran with it for profit, and the ignorant/redneck/anti-Semite/TeaBag/sheeple/et al eagerly and gleefully followed their cues. Underlying and financing this coup were the money interests in the city. Make no mistake, there was a conspiracy, a conspiracy pushing to happen one way or another, but a conspiracy sure as anything.— October 19, 2013 7:56 a.m.

Think you meant Filner here. I wish Goldsmith had been the guy in the docket, alas, no, not this time.— October 18, 2013 9:49 a.m.
Did interim mayor Todd Gloria have the authority to rescind stop-use order for Jack in the Box?
If you can't read plain English, don't post, it's a waste of everyone's time.— September 2, 2013 12:08 p.m.
Did interim mayor Todd Gloria have the authority to rescind stop-use order for Jack in the Box?
It has been well documented here at the Reader that the Toad routinely bans people from his Facebook page, the practice is so prevalent there's even a meme for it. It doesn't surprise me that he thinks he's doing a good job, since he makes sure only to hear the good things people say about him. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2013/s…— September 1, 2013 3:09 p.m.
Did interim mayor Todd Gloria have the authority to rescind stop-use order for Jack in the Box?
@Tim Meese, If it appears that way to you, then you haven't been following this issue at all. In any case, the OP has more to do with the Toad's authority to rescind the Real Mayor's order. I indeed wonder whether he also had the authority to fire the Real Mayor's staff, in particular before the Real Mayor's resignation was in effect. Details, details, as Don said on the other thread about it. Of course the Temporary Toad's out will be that he had to because he was "required by law." Get ready to hear that excuse used for everything he wants to do, including putting Jacobs Folly back on the agenda. The question here isn't whether the Toad will try it on because he surely will grab for all the power he can, the question is whether the City Attorney will do more than just send him a memo telling him whose boss. Bob Filner never stood for that from Goldpelt, but Bob was the duly elected strong mayor; I seriously doubt the Toad will let Goldpelt pee in his cornflakes, even if he is just a seat warmer. One battle ended, another begins.— September 1, 2013 3:37 a.m.
Filner issues a Stop-Use Order against North Park Jack in the Box. Todd Gloria rescinds.
The people of North Park know who was on their side in this Jack in the Box deal. The Toad can try and twist it all he wants to but they know who was fighting for them right until the last moments. And they know why that order was rescinded.— August 31, 2013 7:56 a.m.
Filner issues a Stop-Use Order against North Park Jack in the Box. Todd Gloria rescinds.
Just goes to show the level of vindictiveness in the Toad that he kicks at the mayor even now and blames the true mayor for doing the right thing while at the same time does exactly the wrong thing. The reign of the Terrible Toad begins. He won't care about his constituents. He won't care about the city. He obviously didn't care about the people he fired first thing. He will only care about the puny power he can wield, which is to destroy this beautiful place we call home. I say puny because in the end no matter what he does he can never be loved or admired like Bob Filner. And that's his pathology, what's really eating the Toad.— August 30, 2013 8:58 p.m.
Todd Gloria wields the ax, firing most of Filner staff
Where are the Reader standards police to remove truly offensive trolls and their filth?— August 30, 2013 2:49 p.m.

Kept the Jackson woman on his staff, so I hear.— August 30, 2013 11:43 a.m.

By the way, did you see that the MEA has already endorsed the abominable Fletchthing?— August 30, 2013 5:31 a.m.
