What Prop 6 is repealing in San Diego
Yes on Prop 6. A simple yet meaningful message to Sacramento not to abuse the taxpayers.— November 3, 2018 8:31 a.m.
Second District hit pieces leave murky money trail
Honestly, neither of these office seekers are worthy of our votes or trust. San Diego politicians are abysmal and each election cycle seems worse than the one before it. The total lack of real leadership at the top has San Diego repeating mistakes from its recent past. Sadly, the moniker “Enron by the Sea” may be more appropriate then “America’s Finest City”.— October 27, 2018 9:43 a.m.
Scandal for profit
Oh Lordy...to quote a former FBI Director.— October 21, 2018 9:45 a.m.
Jury awards contractor $200K in Central Avenue Mini Park fight
The city has a long history of these practices. I recall the 1996 Republican National Convention where the City was using the now defunct San Diego Data Processing Corporation to launder and obfuscate money it was spending on the RNC it did not have. It would delay/deny payments to a long list of vendors. Then it didn’t make the necessary pension contributions. I’m just wondering are we doomed to repeat the same mistakes once again. It sure seems we are headed down a similar path.— October 18, 2018 12:19 p.m.
November's ballot looms, but June cleanup continues
Is it me, or does Bryan Pease just display sleazy character traits? Seems *The Reader* has done a few stories on him. None have been flattering. Worse, when he doesn’t get his way, litigation is his solution. Litigation without much, if any, success. Reminds me of a four year old throwing a tantrum. Not flattering at all.— October 17, 2018 11:46 p.m.
Jury awards contractor $200K in Central Avenue Mini Park fight
The City counts on behaviors described in this story to avoid timely, if ever, payments. Under the so called leadership of the Mayor the city is reverting to past practices that earned it its well deserved name ERON-by-the-Sea. I’m just wondering, where is the City auditor? Where is the Council? Where is the watchdog media? If the so called executive is over his head ***and*** incompetent, other adults have to step in and clean house.— October 17, 2018 12:36 p.m.
Susan Davis debates GOP challenger almost 1/3 her age
Agree whole heartedly!— October 13, 2018 4:21 p.m.
Airport noise — from La Mesa to La Jolla
I believe the promise to those interned there was Rest In Peace. Not bone rattling jet noise.— October 13, 2018 12:14 p.m.
Atkins garners horse money, DeMaio frets about gas tax repeal title
Vote YES on Prop 6. Repeal all tax increases period. Tell the legislature and governor to live within our means.— October 11, 2018 2:18 p.m.
Cohn restaurant manager saves the evening
I have not visited those restaurants as they are too far to justify the drive. Hopefully Cohn ownership read your post and will act to improve the product at both stores. All I can add is it’s the people who care that make the restaurant.— October 9, 2018 10:33 a.m.
