Spanos commits!
He, Moores, never indicated the period of time it would be better. And the team was more competitive after moving to Petco. Sadly many believed it would last forever. Nothing last forever, well at least nothing good.— January 30, 2016 7:11 a.m.
Spanos commits!
Don, Spanos is already rich! However, if we're using the standard use by most of his peer NFL owners, then I suppose your statement is almost correct, he will get richer.— January 30, 2016 7:04 a.m.
Bright, sunshiney day
Commission President Peterman, and Commissioners Picker and Randolph voted yes, while Commissioners Florio and Sandoval voted no. See comment on Item #24. https://ia.cpuc.ca.gov/agendadocs/3371_results.pdf— January 29, 2016 8:51 a.m.
Their son died in jail
Is it me? Who is suing? Is it "Jr" or the senior? Is the person who died, 55 with emphysema, and commited crimes 26 years ago? If so, why are crimes 26 years ago relevant to what happened in 2015? Wouldn't the latest offense, whatever it was, be relevant? If the plaintiffs in the story are his parents I'm just wondering if they even visited their son while he was in custody? Was he in the custody of our Sheriff, or was he a prisoner transfer from the state?— January 9, 2016 9:34 a.m.
San Diego pension fund’s un-retiring frequent flier
SDCERS has a few of these Asst Investment Officers on its payroll as well as its Chief Investment Officer. Is Ms. Hamrick the only employee bitten by the travel bug, or are there others doing the so-called due diligence?— January 5, 2016 10:42 a.m.
City decks NFL proposal with lots of folly
At least John Moores was smart enough to pour in some cash and reach the World Series before getting the taxpayers to fund the Padres' new ballpark.— December 31, 2015 3:47 p.m.
City decks NFL proposal with lots of folly
Me too! It would be a hellacious commute for you to see a game in a new San Diego stadium.— December 31, 2015 3:42 p.m.
City decks NFL proposal with lots of folly
In which case, Spanos sells the team and reaps a billion dollar profit.— December 31, 2015 9:07 a.m.
City decks NFL proposal with lots of folly
Since it's seems to be pretty clear the Chargers want to leave for "Los Angeles", I'm just wondering how much is left to pay on the 1997 bonds use to pay for the expansion of our existing stadium? If I remember correctly the Chargers are "responsible" for that debt if they left before 2020. I also see the City's NFL submission: http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/documents/201… is real fluff propoganda. While touting all of San Diego's amenities, it overlooks all the basic infastructure and services which are falling apart or non existent.— December 31, 2015 8:55 a.m.
Mark Twain speaks again in St. Louis
Have to agree with the Capt'n! With more than a BILLION DOLLARS of deferred infrastructure maintenance, not to mention another potential billion or so on a new sewage treatment facility, the City has no business spending taxpayer dollars on a palace for billionaire owners and multi-millionaire players.— December 19, 2015 5:36 p.m.
