Viral funding
It’s the San Diego version of Clinton Foundation. We all know who the Clinton Foundation actually benefits.— September 27, 2017 5:09 p.m.
Radio’s Ray Lucia taking his case to Supreme Court
Other Federal agencies, not necessarily to the states which are governed by their independent constitutions.— September 27, 2017 5:01 p.m.
City grabs Park and Rec funds
More socialism and social justice? What if my community is more involved and or more generous with donations or fund raising? Does this mean my dollars go to other parts of the city? If that’s the case, here is my prediction...community donations will dry up and there will be fewer dollar overall. Unwise decisions lead to unintended consequences.— September 26, 2017 7:46 p.m.
Faulconer's new hepatitis spinmeister
FaulCONer been a do nothing politcian his whole political life here in San Diego. From his time as Council Dist 2 rep where he did nothing on citizen complaints regarding the dangerous roadway at Cañon and Catalina. His inaction lead to a fatality to an infant, a brain injury to her father and a multi million 12,000,000 settlement. It would have been higher, but as our cowardly mayor, FaulCONer hid under the City Attorney’s skirt to avoid being deposed in the litigation. Now as mayor it’s everyone else’s fault as hepatitis runs rampant. Term limits can’t come too soon for the people of San Diego.— September 26, 2017 7:35 p.m.
Faulconer's new hepatitis spinmeister
Another overpaid hack for a do little of anything Mayor. Not surprising whatsoever. His first act, blame the County for the hepatitis problem. Hey Mr. Mayor how about something completely foreign to you? Try leading and working with the County instead of sicking your overpaid PR staff on them.— September 26, 2017 3:42 p.m.
Hotter water for San Diego's fire department
You are correct, thank you for pointing out the error in my grammar.— September 24, 2017 9:40 p.m.
Hotter water for San Diego's fire department
It not unusual for the female gender to have difficulty with some of the physical aspects of these public safety jobs. Generally speaking they do not have the same upper body strength as males. Here is my issue: all of these public safety jobs are not acquired overnight. In fact, from the date you submit an application to the date you start a training academy, it’s months. In addition, there are no secrets about the physical requirements of all three jobs. They are posted. So what are these recruits doing to prepare themselvs BEFORE the academy begins? In her case apparently not enough! The same applies to some men. Some are not fit. Some will argue the standards should be lowered, or different for women. That’s nonsense. Whether your male or female you’ll face the same physical challenge on these jobs, and they can be quite challenging at times. Regarding the other behaviors or issues; locker room, comments and treatment. If true, the locker room situation is ridiculous and the city should be held accountable. Comments by the instructor, not necessarily wrong IF it was intended as a motivational comment for the slower male respondent. But, I will concede a poorly worded comment, the instructor should be counseled. The comment made at the bar, if true, then it was made by an idiot. Personnel investigations are confidential.— September 24, 2017 12:29 p.m.
La Jolla lifeguard tower rife with cost overruns
Maryanne: I sincerely doubt you could ever find a home in Rancho Santa Fe for $300-400 a square foot with “custom” finishes.— September 22, 2017 8:57 a.m.
La Jolla lifeguard tower rife with cost overruns
Ya know, it just stinks.— September 22, 2017 8:52 a.m.
Peter Navarro pushed aside at White House, says Politico
Really? “Where’s my Peter?” That was the best quote, or just the one with Trump and some middle school innuendo?— September 21, 2017 8:59 a.m.
