Hyundai out raced police copter on I-15 shoulders
It’s as simple as this. Judges don’t like being reversed by the appellate division. Better to declare a mistrial then be reversed on appeal for a reason of mental competency.— June 7, 2018 8:39 p.m.
Spanos family could be worth almost $5 billion
Here’s my thought on sports bettors, especially those who think they have insights into the business end of sports: “a fool and his money are soon parted.” So many foolish fans believe owners are here for them and not themselves. The Spanos family is just one example. All they left San Diego with was debt after wringing out as much as they possibly could. Now-a-days their newest victims will be in Los Angeles while San Diegans keep paying off those Stadium Bonds.— June 6, 2018 10:15 a.m.
Bryan Pease and the OB People's Co-op
Pease is just another slime ball attorney who sues when he doesn’t get his way. Then he gets one or more of his slime ball peers to run up costs to the opposing party hoping to break them financially. Why would the citizens of District 2 want anything WHATSOEVER to do with this person. I’m just wondering what happens to the CO-OP if Pease becomes the Dist. Two councilperson?— June 5, 2018 10:56 a.m.
Despite Jack in the Box's hypnotic tacos
Two fast food Titans, McDonals, (Chipotle) and Jack in the Box (Qdoba) battling it out for a niché, but ever growing market. Now that Qdoba is going it alone without the massive corporate backing and interest, wonder how they’ll do?— May 31, 2018 3:45 p.m.
Despite Jack in the Box's hypnotic tacos
Getting back to the original point of Don’s story. Today Qdoba announced it would begin hiring 100 people to take over tasks that FoodMaker was doing when the two companies shared one roof. Even though Qdoba has no food store outlets, except one in the San Diego Airport, it’s keeping its corporate HQ here in San Diego rather than returning to its Denver roots. In separating itself from FoodMaker many administrative functions such as, accounting, HR, finance, IT and marketing were previously handle by FoodMaker staff. As a new separate entity Qdoba now needs employees to preform these tasks. While this is good news for San Diegans looking for these types of jobs, I’m really just wondering if their tacos have the same allure as the JIB ones have? Sadly, with no outlets other than the Airport it will be next to impossible to find out.🤷♂️— May 31, 2018 10:37 a.m.
Water polluted by tossed bikes
If it failing as fast as I think it is, then it wasn’t such a great idea, was it. Then again, with all the money raised by those who initiated these companies, they’re laughing all the way to the bank.— May 29, 2018 9:37 a.m.
Despite Jack in the Box's hypnotic tacos
Today, May 28, 2018, is the national observance of Memorial Day. May 28th is also National Burger Day, JIB emailed me a BOGO coupon. Just enjoyed one of my favorites as a kid, just a plain regular hamburger with Jack’s secret sauce. While it was more than the .39¢ I remember as a kid, it was 50% of today’s menu price. And, no, no it did not remind me of Soylent Green.— May 28, 2018 2:35 p.m.
Water polluted by tossed bikes
I appreciate the efforts of private citizens to clean the environment especially when other citizens have caused it. Every city that allows these nuisance bikes to exists on public property must also develop and enforce a fine/fee schedule for these companies. The general public and taxpayers should not be responsible for the cost of the pollution caused by a for profit company, especially when it’s a programs we don’t really need. As with any venture there are always unintended consequences. As we see many of our own citizens cause these problems and if caught they should suffer the criminal consequences. But as a citizen who does not use this service, nor approves of bicycles just being parked or abandoned in the public right-of-way, I don’t want my tax dollars paying to clean up their mess while they profit.— May 28, 2018 10:47 a.m.
Despite Jack in the Box's hypnotic tacos
Dwbat: Ha. Did the same thing...since we were all talking about it. Stopped by the JIB on Rosecrans St. Ordered the special 3 tacos and a small soda, $3.23 with the tax. Got six hot sauce packets....certainly not fine dining...but fine for $3.23— May 25, 2018 1:37 p.m.
Atkins's money counters DeMaio's recall efforts
Term limits cannot come fast enough for Atkins!— May 24, 2018 8:24 p.m.
